was a great day for cleaning cars! My daughter bought me a Meguiars detailing kit for fathers day......never can have too much meguiars :D
Started with washing the Triton, then thought I would try out the Deep Crystal Wet Look Cleaning Wax. Looks a million bucks now! So then I moved onto the wagon and applied a coat to it.........and I couldn't neglect the Lane could I, so she got the royal treatment as well

WARNING! PPE to include sun glasses when visiting mick's house! 3 very sparkling clean cars on site! May cause permanent damage to eye sight!

On a day like that, I couldn't resist cruising around beautiful Lake Macquarie in the Lane, windows down and sunroof open! I forgot how comfotable the ride is when rolling on stockies  The stock look is actually quite appealing, so for now I think I may just leave the old girl as she is.......for now anyway :P

I would go and suss it out, but I go into hospital next week and will be out of action for 2 months so no point pretending to dream any more!

You are right though, it seems like there is something not quite right about this one. Engine bay doesn't look very tidy either.....showing it's age for sure.

Thanks Ash! Been doing nothing but waiting  Already had 4 weeks off, but just couldn't do it any more, so I have been going back to work this week just to keep my mind off things
But I am very confident in the surgeons ability and todays technology. I'll be a new man once I'm all fixed up

i have noticed that ALOT the last few years.. everything is going cheap chrome plating and the slightest bit of brake dust just destroys them.

Thanks Huggie!

and yes BenJ, that they are. Cheap chinese tyres, but still a good deal at $250 a wheel. The amount of K's the Lane does, they should do me a couple of years

Unfortunately one of them has a little damage already. Wife was trying to help me fit them this arvo and dropped one face down onto the gutter
Good thing about painted wheels I suppose, hit it with the dremmel to take of the rough edges around the damage and hit it with a can of black gloss  They'll be good as new.........

Cheers,
Mick

Clearance is going well here. Sold my daughters swift this week, complete with blue slip, after spending the last couple of months making it roadworthy. She decided she'd prefer an auto to a manual, so I bought her a 92 Twin Cam Carolla Seca. Not really clearance when I replace one with another, but at least this one is registered and gets daily use. Pity on the little swift though was a great little car.

LTD is practically stripped down to the shell now. Only need to pull the engine and diff and the rest will be off to scrap. The chrome Volts also go next week, sold to a mate to go on his XH Ute. Once the LTD shell is gone, I will start to clean and catalogue the parts ready for sale. Like I said in a previous post, most parts for NC/DC available, some parts I have 2 or 3 such as rear clusters, door cards, tail lights, head lights interior trim etc, etc.

As for the wagon.........who wants the f**k thing. Make me an offer......seriously! Nothing wrong with it other than the usual E-series constant maintenance work, but it just sits out in the back yard not getting used. The trans has been playing up a little lately, so I am fitting a new filter/gasket kit to it this weekend, but other than that, she's still a great looking wagon and needs to go to a good home. Too much has been done to customise this wagon by the previous owner to let it just die a silent death in my back yard. I will be giving it a lot of attention over the next couple of weeks to make sure everything is in good condition, but after that, it realy must go.

Missus gives it a run once or twice a week, only when she needs a fix of V8 goodness and to hear the sound of that rumbling exhaust, but she needs something more...........(can't believe I'm gunna say this out loud).......modern! But all existing fleet must be moved before anything else joins the stable.

Geez! after reading through this, I have a lot to do, so no time to sit around here......off to the back yard I go

Cheers,
Mick
