Going good thanks OZ, how about you? Big cruise on the 12th August for "Sids for Kids" starting at the Knights Stadium and ending at Hunter Valley Gardens via Maitland. Might see you there eh?

Mick

Yeh I'll be there too :) first cruise in the XR8. Will keep an eye out for you, would be good to catch up

I'll be very dusty, have a double 40th for a couple of friends at Newcastle races on the Saturday, but determined to get out amongst it

G'day sLowlane,

Thanks mate, I am still on SL's but recently installed a new set of shortened Monroe GT sports shocks in the rear and it is now just tucking guard (actually scrubs out a bit on the tyres now with a full load of passengers :( ). Funny you mention the Volts, I just found a set of 18's on ebay and would have bought them but he won't ship, local pickup only. Always loved the look of the Volts on the Lane, mine just went to s**t after the dog got hold of one of the centre caps and I couldn't buy a replacement
As for other NC/DC owners, Huggiebear is up your way, not sure about others. (In saying that, Huggie probably doesn't live anywhere near Brissy, like saying Sydney is next to Newcastle :P )
Anyway here's a couple of pics of the Lane from the weekend and an update on the status of the LTD :D
Sorry for the crappy phone pics!

LTD all stripped and ready for the scrap metal yard :(

Cheers Mick,

Just read through your lane and LTD thread, scored a bargain on the sl springs. Wouldn't know of any cheap sets floating around? To tell you the truth I'm not really brissy, caboolture/morayfield area but I get around haha think I heard huggie mention about being around here. I'm still looking pretty grandpa spec right now, but still just spitballing a few mods to try on the old girl. How'd you go with the chrome strips on your lane, they look like new on yours. Mine have seen better days...

Check this guy out on ebay for suspension parts. I have bought springs and shocks off him for a couple of work cars and also bought my shortened monroe shocks off him for the NC. He sells the king springs at a fairly reasonable price, but also sells the full suspendion kits for around $600.

As for the chrome strips.....not very nice up close. Mine have peeled most of the plastic and look s**t. I actually just bought a 6m roll of 30mm for the front and rear bars.....for less than $30  should receive it in the mail by the end of the week. As for the side chrome, I can buy a full roll of 48mm for around the $300 mark which will do about 6 - 8 cars, but received zero interest from anybody else, so still waiting to decide whether I go ahead with that or not. Same guy that will sell me the side chrome roll, will redo them for $110 a side if you remove them and send them to him....might be a better option
