Finally got myself motivated today and got outside and did some work on the lane. Bought a set of rear SL's from svomatt a couple of weeks ago (were suppose to be for the missus' EB  ), so I thought I would throw them in the lane just to see how they look and hopefully, still clear the driveway

Pretty happy with the result, the front right side hotdog scrapes a bit when I reverse down the driveway.....but I can live with that :D

I also threw this in whilst I was out tinkering

s**t eh! That was a loooong time ago, but should just be a straight swap from memory? I no longer have the fan shroud as I have upgraded to electric thermo's and p****d off the old clutch fan, so can't even check the clearance.

S**t.....it hits the shroud, so can line it up for the bolts. Want to put thermos, and I can get the thermatic sensor and fans for $220 posted. But I don't trust myself with the installation :/

hmmm! Seems you may have been mislead going by the ebay listing you mentioned in another thread! The part number BA9A624A is for the BA XR6 upper snokel which is different to the e-series snorkel required for your NC. Not your fault, but I would be asking the ebay seller to give you a refund as their listing is wrong  unless someone wished to set me straight here :?:

Thanks for the info... Not that I doubt you, but I would appreciate if someone else could confirm this before I start going on a rage at the seller haha.
Thanks again.

google the part number, I was suspicious when you said it didn't fit, so that's all I did!

the BA XR6T snorkel (well i believe all XR models had the same unit) is the same size as the E-series and AU Tickford snorkels apart from the tickford logo removed. in the EA-ED/NA-NC range the snorkel isnt a direct fit, they are 5mm or so back. some mount them to the thermo shrouds others drill new holes.

hope i helped a bit for you

Thanks mate but it seems to be quite a bit more than 5mm.... It doesn't even sit flush with the shroud so no chance of screwing in there, and any other position I put it in will pull the pipe out from the air box.

Just thought I'd upload a quick photo of the old lane. 1993 fairlane ghia v8.
Fairly standard, has iridium plugs, top gun leads and k&n filters, the standard stuff.
Also has pacemaker extractors, and a 2.5" stainless catback exhaust with one high flow muffler. Has engine name plate on it rather than the BBQ plate. Also has half the DC ltd grille.

Still to come:
-Top section of ltd grille( needs drilling)
-Replace cats with stainless straight pipes
-Stainless maf tube
-The headlining needs doing
-Underdrive pullies
-18" Fpv cobra rims with e series offset

Good to see my build inspired someone! That build list sounds awefully familiar  Keep up the good work mate!
Cheers,
Mick

Haha yea I don't think anything can beat the look of the cobra wheels. Quick question for you though, how is the rubber striping on the sides of yours red? Mine is grey...
