Got a new camera the other day from my boss for 5 years service, so I thought I had better test it out Here are a few more pics of the interior now that it is considered complete
Plus a couple other random ones As you can probably guess, i'm trying to distract myself from thinking I should be at Bathurst right now! Mick

Well! I have good and bad news.
Let's start with the bad The Lane's a daily again, but not for too long hopefully. And the good, I have been given the green light to "tidy up" the monty. Ran out of rego last week, the battery died week before that and it appears to be leaking oil and shredding front tyres So I decided to take a look on the weekend, and looks like there will be a bit of work required here. The oil was leaking from the front and rear rocker cover seal, so I pulled it off and found the seal was as hard as a rock and the internals not so clean Thinking of continuing with the pull down of the engine now I have gone this far, might as well while i'm at it. Any tips on best method for cleaning the burnt crap off? Will be a few posts in the "Wanted" section soon I think

Well! I have managed to do the impossible
After I thought I had exhausted all avenue's trying to locate an LTD rear Garnish from a DC, I struck gold yesterday Just happened to ask a guy from Melbourne who was wrecking a DC if he still had it, and it turned out to be my lucky day. Not only does he have the rear garnish in excellent undamaged condition, but he also has a mint boot emblem to match . The last piece's of the puzzle have now been found and the transformation is Complete! A couple of pics! Can't wait to get it fitted! WooHoo!!!

I recently replaced my old airbox base with a clean, unmolestered unit from Jastel's El monty, as mine was looking like swiss cheese from my poor efforts at a custom CAI! But all those holes in the box must have given me some gains as it has lost a bit in the acceleration area and the exhaust note changed as well since I put the new box in.
Well, I had been giving it some thought and decided to have another crack at doing the CAI a bit better. As this is another prototype effort, I pulled out the old "swiss cheese" and have modified it first to make sure it was all going to work. I have used a 50mm conduit flex pipe with a 50mm sweeping elbow, cut a hole in the side of the factory intake, saddled it all in place and stuffed the conduit down inside the passenger front guard via the hole for the indicator and headlight access point. The end of the elbow actually sits about 50mm above the air intake on the lower front bar. After a few minor adjustments to the position of the saddle, it all slotted in very nicely Throttle response has improved again and I have the nice deep throaty exhaust and induction note back. Will leave the old box in for now and see how it all goes, but will eventually transfer it over to the monty base and tidy it up a bit, with a lick of paint so it doesn't stand out like dogs balls Now I better get outside and sort out my bloody sunroof issues Cheers, Mick
