The dog turd's already been removed tezza, wasn't on it when I bought it. I just thought it would be a good place to mod the intake with a blow off valve of some sort without cutting into the intake pipe. Gunna play with it tomorrow if the weathers good, before the V8's start anyway.

i know what your saying tho mick... your doing a rubberised version of those flaps on tractors to keep the rain out... but use thick rubber so it wont leak but will move when backpressure is applied

You got it Huggie! Except the flap will be centre pivoted, not side hinged. I think this will give a better vacuum seal, but will allow the backpressure to escape easily on a backfire. I tried a few junction boxes and PVC pipe I had lying around earlier, but they are not the right size. I think a trip to bunnings is in order :D

OK! I've finally made an "LPG Induction Back Fire Blow-Off Valve" :D
As it's pretty late now and I've only just finished it after working on it since getting home from work @ 5pm, I'll just throw up a couple of teasers. I must say i'm pretty stoked with the final product. Details of how it was made, materials, function etc etc to come tomorrow :P
Then again State of Origin is on tomorrow night, Ok Thursday night
Maybe I won't give up all my secrets, I could patent this little baby :P
Some of the materials used

And a couple of the valve during production

If anyone else is remotely interested in this little contraption, I will do a tech doco on it.
Cheers
Mick

A few minor mods and repairs to add :D Thanks to Brett, I now have my new airbox lid, I owe you one mate. I have also painted my LPG blow-off valve and it has been fitted and tested (still have to wait until I have an actual backfire to test it's effectiveness). I also made a visit to pick"n"payless with the boys on Friday arvo and picked up a dozen or so screw caps for the interior door handles that were missing, worth the $2 entry. I also picked up a set of EL Mont Ghia carpeted kick panels in pretty good nick for $20. Good thing I don't live in Sydney, I could see myself spending a lot of time at this place :D I'm actually going to suggest it as a cruise day for the Newie boys to visit. Pitty we don't have anything like that around newie.
Her's a few pics of the latest work :D
The new airbox lid, I know seen one seen them all, but this one isn't split from a**hole to breakfast

Now somebody buy MRE-50L's gearbox will ya! I want his LTD interior and a few other bit's'n'pieces to complete my LTD make-over of the lane :D
Cheers,
Mick

I was close, didn't look that closely at the car, it was green and still had an interior  They will do until I can get my hands on Dave's leather ones

That's alright mate, it's not damaged which is the main thing and I put a K&N sticker on it to pretty it up a bit  As Bill said Friday when he gave it to me, the V instead of the IV together with the explorer manifold will get people thinking :P

8-) "SUCCESS" 8-) The LPG Blow-off valve has passed it's final test  The Lane backfired on the missus for the first time today and she said it didn't miss a beat. Normally the engine cuts out and you open the bonnet to find the engine bay in a big mess :? Didn't cut out, and when I got home from work and she told me about it, I checked under the hood to find everything where it should be :D Even the new spring clips I had bought were still all there and clipped on.
To top the day, I also came home to find my new EL Leather T-Bar s**t handle had arrived, so it was straight out to the garage, made up a new centre shaft out of a tent peg and had it fitted in no time. Stay tuned, I'm on a roll and it's nearly bonus time at work + tax refund time :D I can feel a mod fest commin on!

Nice.

Now all you need to do is change the shifter stem for an EF/EL one and you have a shortened shifter.

I might just have one laying around you can have.
