I'll have to see what I have on at work next Thursday. Wouldn't mind going just to check it all out. Won't necessarily buy the lane, but if it's only a couple of hundred bucks, why wouldn't ya :?
How'd you go with the trailer today, make it over to Merryland "waste management facility". Pretty flash as far as tips go.

haha! It almost makes going to the tip a pleasurable experience eh!

I think they incinerate everything there, probably why they don't take car tyres, batteries and things that go bang  I am a master at hiding s**t inside other s**t, but I generally go on a weekend and it's always packed, so you tend to get away with it a bit more.

The workers become traffic cops, rather than keeping an eye on what gets chucked.

OK. Time to shake things up a bit.

I am planning major changes to my current line-up of LWB fords. This weekend is the start of some swapping and changing, and even a little digging into the mass of spares I have accumulated over the past couple of years. Not all will survive the transplant. One has to be culled for the greater good of the LWB future here at NCIILANE's Garage

Today I started with jump starting the old NA and moving her out for the first of many surgeries planned over the coming days. The NC Velour interior she has been keeping safe for the past year, is now to be removed. In it's place will be a nice set of DC leather seats and door cards which currently occupy the NC. Then she will receive a good spit and polish, only to be fitted with a big "FOR SALE" sign. That's right the NA is goooneski's. I hope
Here is a little advertisement I prepared earlier

In the NA's place now resides the newest addition to the family. Say hello to the Wagon. It's a 94 ED Futura Classic. Polynesian green with only 197,000K's.

The boot space has already been put into practice

Has a couple of minor issues to sort out, but nothing major.

Today started with the removal of the factory headunit and was replaced with a new VDO unit I have had sitting in a cupboard in the spare parts room.

After a bit of searching for the ED Radio wiring on FM, it was done. The factory speakers appear to be in pretty good shape and the sound is crisp and clear.

But I have these, and I think they will go nice here :?

The hole will deffinately be big enough :)

Next on the list......the wagon is going to inherit the Advanti Chrome Volts from the NC.

Let's see how things go tomorrow.

Don't worry though. The Lane received some attention today too!
You see, there's this Dyno day on next weekend, so I am giving the Lane a big check-up to make sure it's nice and healthy.
Started today with the wash of the K&N, it's hanging overnight to dry, and will receive a fresh coat of oil tomoz. Pulled the induction piping apart and gave it a good clean, even the MAF got hit with the old contact cleaner.
Tomorrow is oil change and coolant flush and refresh time. I've also been having some troubles with the davies craig switch. So I think I'd better pull that apart and see what the problem is. Seems to be a dodgy contact. Need the fans to be working while it's being put through it's paces 8-)
Oh, and if I get time, NC wheels and interior will be getting put back in service too

I have a big day tomorrow, better get to bed and stop this midnight rambling eh!

Cheers,
Mick

Anybody know if the Tailgate Gas Struts for a BA wagon fit the E-series wagons?

I have a set at work we bought for a company car, but we sold the wagon, so they are orphans. Thought I would make good use of them.

Sorry Huggie, I meant for the tailgate. As soon as I posted it, I went back to edit it to include the "tailgate gas" struts, but you were too quick :P

yeah the other half isnt happy about that side of me

only way to know is to measure them.. grab them and give them a go, providing they close completely when the boots closed it should be fine

The gas struts I had at work turned out to be Monroe Max-Lift ML1122's.

As it turns out, they are for EA-ED Bonnets. The model I require for the Tailgate are ML1121's. Ah well, that's what happens when you leave it to an apprentice to get new tailgate struts for a BA

http://www.monroe.com.au/catalogue/catalogue.html

The difference between the 2 is that the bonnet struts are about 100-150mm shorter than the tailgate struts. They fit OK and seemed to work, but you do not get anywhere need the required lift for the tailgate. So, I just replaced the bonnet ones instead :P No point leaving them at work, we don't have any EA/ED's there  Besides, the old "Lift-O-Mat" bonnet struts were on their way out. Now on to ebay to sort out the tailgate
