Seeing as the "Super Storm" didn't eventuate today, I thought I'd take the Lane out and get some "current" pic's. This is how it sits as of about 1 hour ago.

Cheers,

PS. I have had a couple of requests for parts from the Lane. This is quite simple "THE LANE WILL NOT BE PARTED OUT!!!" It either sells as is, complete with all current modifications, or not at all......

name and shame the one who mentioned parting it out!!!! AS IF YOU WOULD EVER!!! DO THAT

this lane is too fine example to wreck. but if they want to wreck it out, 6500 for the part thry want with everything else thrown in for free...

and if they are wanting parts, tell them to sell theirs ad buy this one

It's all good Huggie, someone asked for the underdrives and another wanted the DC leather door cards, neither of which are part of the original car anyway. The point I was making was that no parts will be sold seperately, they all form part of what I have built.
I agree with you about them wanting the parts though, they can buy it and can swap and change as much or as little as they want with the s**t load of parts that come with the car......it's like a big friggin meccano set

Thanks jazza,
Not actively trying to sell it anymore and I have withdrawn the For Sale thread here on FM, but the sticker remains on the back window and if somebody comes up with the cash for the asking price, then it will be gone.
I've had my fun modifying it and then reversing some of those mods to take it back to a genuine Fairlane Ghia, so now I would like to tackle something else.
Cheers,
Mick

thats the problem with these old girls, not much can be done to them, interior change, maybe some more power from the motor/box side of things and a LTD grill, thats about it.

its a shame as they are a really beautiful car. im planning on keeping mine for a very long time unless i find another one in the same colour thats 100% dent free

You hit the nail on the head Huggie, at 143rwkw, I think I have squeezed all I can out of it without major open heart surgery, and I just don't have the spare cash anymore to take me down that road. Don't get me wrong, I still love the car, but being a family man, I need something more practical and I don't want to subject the Lane to a life of torture as a daily hack. I think I have only put 13,000k's on it in the last 3 years.
Worst thing that could happen now is if some local yobbo bought it and in 6 months time I see it all dinged up and blowing smoke everywhere, that would just kill me

yeah my mate had a NA lane, he fixed it up a bit, BBM conversion etc, and then sold it on, 3 months later its sitting in the wreckers yard with massive front/rear/side panel damage.. poor car

Hey Mick you can have a nice car as a daily driver! My NF is my car ( the wife has a Hyundai) it doesn't look too shabby, it took the family to Tassie and back at chrissie, you wouldn't want to travel in something less luxo! that's why I have decided to give up on hooning it up , and just plugging around on LPG - hey I don't beat anyone but I KNOW I'm better than them cause I got a Fairlane! I've had all my Fairlanes as daily drivers even the ZD but now it shall be the cruiser, everyday driving the big girl why the f not!

Hey Mick, check this out. I think you need one! Matches the interior perfect, would be even better with a coat of clear gloss!
