I removed both of the rear Qtr. glass plastic surrounds as they are straighter than mine. Gunna paint them up nice'n'shiny. Also scored the leather and carpet kick panels. I will keep a few bit's that are better than mine.
Image
Both rear indicators/brake lights are clean and undamaged. garnish, as we know is damaged, but the chrome spear is unbroken. Normally a couple of the 4 mounting posts are broken.

Premo sound seems to be all there, including the Amp (have to drill the pop rivets out), the factory sub, speakers, stacker (minus the cassette  ) and head unit. The electric boot release, boot wiring loom, filler door, electric sensor and release solenoid out and all work .

I also figured out how the killswitch connected to the lights work. When I pulled the boot carpet out, there was an extra wire run to the fuel pump from the rear parker lights. For those that missed it earlier, the car doesn't run unless the lights are turned on. Makes sense now.

Woodgrain should scrub up OK too. The radio surround is near perfect, just a little grubby, but the shifter surround has a big crack on the left side. Window switch panel is pretty good, just a few little cracks here & there.

The door cards are better than the set I have in the Lane ATM, except for the drivers side wood. The top edge laminate coat has chipped away pretty bad.
Image
Image
Cluster all works and K's aren't too bad
Image
Dash doesn't have a mark on it, very clean and no cracks
Image
Side mirrors will be getting the resto job and will find there way on the Lane
Image
Rear leather is very clean, but forget about the fronts. I'm taking the electric bases and wiring and fitting it to the Lane's velours  the seats themselves are scrap (except for the leather head rests, keeping them)

I think I'm actually enjoying pulling this beast apart

That actually looks to be in alright condition on most of the gear inside apart from the obvious...

Is it me or is that brake pedal rubber in good condition?

Typical how you find out how the car runs after you start tearing it apart...... lol

edit: dont forget to siphon the fuel

Still wasn't worth saving mate. Motor and trans are screwed.

Brake pedal rubber eh? will do a comparison with the Lane, been a long time since I seen a shiny worn down one like ya use to see on old X series cars.

Got about half a tank out of it today. Picture this, I had one of the new siphon hoses with the brass fitting on the end with a spring loaded marble in it. I had to milk about 25 litres of fuel out of it with a steady to'n'fro action on the hose  That's how I found the fuel pump wire, thought there had to be an easier way than wanking fuel out of ya car, but the big screw down lock ring over the fuel pump wouldn't budge.

Yeah well

Well, if you also want to see a shiny bald one, you are more than welcome to look at the one i have here off the EF...... lol

LOL!!! that i can imagine, just lucky i dont live near you or i would be f**k laughing from breakfast to dinnertime :D ....... What i would've done is disconnected the fuel lines in the engine bay, put them into a jerry can or the Lanes fuel tank, whichever i felt like, gotten a car battery and hooked up the pos and neg wires to the terminals on the battery :D works al.... well, most of the time.......
That lock ring really does get people, especially when they have been on there for 17 or so years...

leather wrap console too.. i used to have a velor one from a DA LTD complete with rear stereo section which controlled everything except the tape. even had dual headphone jacks...

and also mick, when i had to empty the lasers fuel tank i removed the hose, attached another one ran it out the car, and used a jumper pack to power the fuel pump.

i wish i lived down near you mick.. my baffle in the fuel tank has gone MIA which makes the car surge at anything under 1/4 tank around corners... i could take soo much off this car.. also what injectors does it have in it? the NC i got the injectors off at the wreckers (f1ze-c2a) are a mustang/f-series injectors but are a single jet and only 19lb, where as some others got the 24lb ones.

i later worked out i should have just grabbed injectors off an AU there as they are 19lb and have the quad spray pattern

Good thing is that there are probably quite a few "Gramps" cars still getting around. I see them getting around here all the time. I reckon Lake Macquarie is the capital of E-Series boxcar Lanes/LTD's :P Just gotta follow them around now like a funeral director waiting for the deceased estate sale

The console has seen better days mate. Might scrub up OK, but the console lid has a couple of big scratches on it.
I'll check out the injectors today, I didn't know that. Once it get's close to it's trip to the wreckers, I will pull off anything worth salvaging from the motor. Until then it still runs so I can move it around. My backyard is a PITA

i feel your pain.. my fairlane is stuck where it is, i can only move it back and forward lol. stupid land slopes and its at the bottom, its only minor but when your pushing a 1600kg car with rusty brakes it gets a bit hard.. then there is the no handbrake so it rolls over you every time you take a break
