Yep. Im taking the LPG off the Mav as well. With the extra fuel you use compared to petrol and the fact that LPG is now only half to cost of petrol on a good day compared to the third of the price it used to be the savings are just not good enough anymore to warrant keeping it.
Worst bit is I used to be a huge LPG fan and defender. Now its only any good for beating emissions tests unless you are running an injection system , but thats too pricy at the moment to justify it.

Picked up the keys to the wagon to go put all my talk into practice, and "BANG" f**k thunder. This storm just literally appeared out of nowhere, sun was shining 5 minutes ago :(

Wow, nice score on the wagon, that's a few box car's now! They seem to breed don't they? I started out with one, now i have 3 too! All different colors tho, but 2 are v8's. All 3 are manuals.

Down this way, LPG has been a touch under 50cpl or just a touch over it for a little while now, while petrol hovers around $1.15.9 -> $1.39.9, so LPG still makes sense for me. Even with the bit more used, I'm still saving money, which is what counts.

Cheers

Yeah Mick we got the storm down here earlier.
Got some pretty good hail. Pity it happened when I was inside Bunnings getting my gardening stuff. I had actually got the Fairlane out for the first time in a few weeks and decided to take it for a run.
Yeah it now has hail dents on top of hail dents. Its stuffed now I reckon.............

Aaarrrggghh!! bugger Matt,

One thing that freaks me out about storms is hail and being caught out when it strikes.
Lucky there wasn't hail here today, the wagon was out front when the storm came through
Would have been deafening at bunnings, been there when heavy rain has hit before, but you would have felt sick to the stomach when you realised the Lane was outside copping it
Insured was it??? Could deffinately work in your favour if it was

Thanks Mate,
As soon as I knew it was going to be on the market, I set about working towards owning it. Biggest hurdle was convincing the wifey that it would be a great car to buy, and she would get her own V8, damn shame it's not still manual though. But I got her to take it for a run and the rest is history

As for the LPG, she doesn't actually do a lot of driving, so the saving to run it on Gas is minimal, and not worth the hassles that come with it. Anyway, that's not a problem anymore. Got outside after the rain stopped and made some modifications to the inductions system, for the better  She now idles very smooth....details to come soon, being called to the dinner table now

Cheers,
Mick

OK. The idea of pinching the hose from the LTD didn't work out so well
Image
Was very brittle and clogged with oil residue crap, so I decided to pinch the hose that runs from the header tank to the radiator and use that instead
Image
Also removed the mixer ring whilst I was at it, along with the balance line. Next week I will work on removing the heater hoses to the converter, just to tidy things up a bit
Image

Also found myself multi-tasking today
Image
The wagon....before I made some changes

The Lane

and my very own "spare parts outlet" :P

The wagon is now running sweet. But I found a few things that I could use some help with :?
The Lane has a sensor in the lower intake manifold that I assume measures O2 prior to combustion
Image
Image
The wagon on the other hand, doesn't have a hole in the same place on the lower. Instead, it is mounted in the air intake piping where the dog turd sits
Image
My question is not about the location of the sensor, it obviously serves the same purpose where it is, but what is the difference with the lower intake manifolds? Both have explorer manifolds, but the lowers are obviously different???any ideas???

I recon that sensor you pointing at is ECT –coolant temperature sensor.

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Don't think so huggie, it appears to part of the original wiring loom on both cars, just the wagon has been extended to where it is fitted now, didn't think to look at the LTD to see if it has one. May have been done when the explorer was fitted?
I could just ask Mark I suppose, but I only bought a car of the guy and don't want to bother him everytime I have a question. That could be a lot of phone calls

I will have a closer look at the wiring harness using that diagram, Thanks for that.
Don't think it is a coolant sensor though, wouldn't be very effective in the air intake pipe :P
Appreciate the help though guys, keep em coming.
