gday there

im new to these forums but have you tried grounding the negative up wire as there are two negatives and the one positive as the positive is always powered unless ignition off and negative is one for up, one for down. try connecting it to a spare battery and see if it moves. if it does, some other electric problem if it doesnt swap it out for a spare one

also do you know where the technical documents are? i am looking on how to do the eb cluster to ef fairlane cluster

Lovin' the pit there Mick, you lucky bastard!

Your wheels look like they contracted the same disease mine did. Can't get rid of the s**t.
Must be the damp/wet? It came up all over my Boyd's within about 3 weeks after i got them and did a fair bit of damage to them.

So now you have the stockies on for the sleeper look......when's the manual box going in? :P

Pit is more like a fish tank at the moment, need to pick up a water pump this weekend and clean it out. Then I can put it to good use.

Hopefully the stockies won't be on for long, gotta move on the Gladiators I have here that were on the wagon, and then I can find myself a set of cobra's  Then I am gunna have a go at polishing the stockies and removing some of the "oxidation" that is appearing on the face of the rims. The real bad white s**t is only on the one rim that was on the concrete down the back shed. The other 3 were piled on top of that one. You must have been p****d about the boyd's getting the oxidation, there not cheap

As for the manual, I would like to be working on the Lane and doing some more serious modding to it, but the wagon is taking up a bit of my time ATM! But I'll sort out the little issues I have and eventually move on to the Lane. For the time being, the Lane is back to daily duties......again

G'day mate,
I assume you're talking about the issue I'm having with the power window? It only has 2 wires, and what I have found so far is it appears to be switching + to the motor and the body of the motor is the ground reference? :? I've been away the last couple of days, so haven't had a chance to have a good crack at nutting the issue. I have a couple of spare motors here, tried them both and still nothing???
More info on what I have done so far here, including pic of the connector
viewtopic.php?f=14&t=95253
The FM knowledge well appears to have run dry on this issue :P
A wiring diagram of the power window motor would be handy.......where's my mate Peter7 when ya need him

have you checked the door to body loom connectors to see if both wires actually had power?

and it does sound correct using the body of the motor to ground

Not yet mate, I was working in the dark using a torch when the problem first happened, so looks like a saturday job. Not the only problem I'm having with the drivers door, so you might be on to something there. The remote battery has died, so when you lock/unlock the car with the key at the drivers door, it doesn't control the other doors. If you do the same at the front passenger door, the rear doors both have cenral lock control, except for the drivers door, it is only functioning manually.

Don't worry, I have quite a collection of smartlock remotes here, just haven't got around to replacing the battery or learning in a new remote.....but that's another matter, will have no part of the central locking issue.

I thought I would mention it as the power mirror wires have their own separate socket whereas the power window and all is in the other socket as one. if i managed to figure it out, at least it was bought up by a fellow fordmodder. good luck with it all.

also drag out another ef or el fairlane door loom from the wreckers and just see if that works all of it, if it does, throw it in. also just hook up a wire to the current ground that is on the motor to a car battery or good earth on the body (door light switch button) and then one of the other wires to 12v so that it can go up if not already

OK, a bit happening here ATM. Don't ya just love boxcar issues
The Lane is enjoying life back on stockies. The missus has been driving it this week because of the electrical issues with the wagon, but said it is handling much better on the stockies compared to the 17's. Took it for a spin this arvo, and I have to agree.....maybe it will stay grandpa spec for the time being, I actually like the stock look with the SL suspension
Still looking to sell the CSA's from the wagon, listed elsewhere and probably will find there way on ebay by the end of tonight.....I know, not very patient am I :P
viewtopic.php?f=17&t=95231
But tomorrow the wagon will be receiving all the attention, besides the drivers door issues, the flasher unit for the indicators also seems to be failing. Multimeter will be receiving a workout me thinks
viewtopic.php?f=14&t=95253
Sunday being fathers day, I'm hoping to have it all sorted tomorrow so I can kick back and relax for the rest of the weekend.........hopefully :?

I did thanks mate, was a break in the cable where the cut'n'shut was done on the body loom behind the kick panel, two other joins came apart on the same loom to the connector when I gave them a good tug, so I resoldered all joins and sealed them properly with heat shrink.
Once I found the connector behind the kick panel and started belling out the cables, wasn't too hard to find the problem.
Also found the problem with the drivers door central locking motor to be the connector in the door, tried sorting it out, but it was a but tricky with both ends of the connectors sealed. So I just cut the connector off and reconnected the cables with boot lace terminals and a terminal block. Good as gold now
Thanks for the help mate.
Cheers,
Mick

C'mon Ross, you know my opinion on window shoppers making up false numbers on the watched list. If someone is seriously interested, they will either find it themselves or PM me for the link. For the really keen shopper, I have posted the link on FM somewhere
Where's wally :P
