What an eventful day, car show in the morning, boxcar repairs in the afternoon
The wagon has had steering and braking issues to the point where the brakes failed on me a couple of days ago and only just managed to get them back before I went flying through an intersection  There has been a lot of clanking and banging going on from the front left wheel, and I found out why this arvo!

Good thing I had a spare set of these in the spares parts department down the back yard :P
Image
Now I have had these sitting in a box for a couple of years, and not sure what they were off. As you can see from the pic's, they were a little different, but I just removed the appropriate sized shims that made up the difference

There is still a bit of play, mostly from the lower ball joint, but I put it back together and took it for a run and the steering is very tight and responsive, and no more clunk, bang........f**k I have no brakes! Now to visit ole evilbay and get me a set of upper and lower ball joints, they not looking too good either

Nope, not unless I can find a nice set of NF/NL Grey Leather, previous owner made a modification to the floor pan, which means no more boxcar seating for this wagon  But it does involve leather :P
Image
Is the DC1 gear you scored leather or velour? I would love to get my hands on a set of DC LTD Velour seats and door cards for the Lane, but that is just a dream  rarer than the leather!

And can you believe I convinced the missus to let me steal the polished explorer from the wagon  I managed to get through to her that the wagon is just a daily and it would suit the Lane better :P

Ash you need to start looking at Craigslist. www.craigslist.org it's very primitive but it's what most ppl use to list their cars in the States and Canada.

That way you have a chance at cutting out the middle man.

We need to have a serious chat Ash
Going to be doing the security at Keiran's house in the next couple of weeks in preperation for his new arival, so I'm sure all this attention on the pony's of late is going to rub off, if you know what I mean
That white 6cyl one has caught my eye as well. My eldest is getting her licence in the next 12 months or so, and she has expressed interest in me buying an old car to do up for her. Something like that would be perfect 8-) She will be paying for it, I just have to steer her in the right direction. She has been doing very well saving her pennies. wish I could say the same, this time of year really sucks atm
Off to a bucks show now, will chat later.
Cheers,
Mick
