Thanks mate, I do like my red cars!

Wheel arch moulds are a personal thing mate, I'm not fussed either way. Would put them on if I had a set, but not high on the priority list. Always a hot topic to debate on FM :P

I think Ash has the transport options all covered for us by a local company if I decide to join him on the pony express :D I won't be going over personally, but am seriously considering getting my hands on one. Hard not to consider it seriously with the US prices and the strong aussie dollar, but thanks for the offer anyway mate.

I travel to Grafton pretty regularly mate, (Koolkhan Substation to be exact) I'll have to keep an eye out for your lane next time I'm up there

Cheers,
Mick

Sikaflex them on Rossco. Done properly with the right stuff they will never come off.

You can say that again. I used that black sikaflex on my wing mirrors, tried to take one off the other day to align it slightly, gave up. I swear a nuclear blast wouldn't melt or soften the stuff.

Hey Mick, Can i trouble you for a picture of what wire and where you wired up the "engine on" power wire for the thermo fans? I have been told injector power, but i have a passionate HATE for wiring so a picture says a thousand words for me. Cheers!

few pic's of the relays and wiring on page 18 mate, not sure they'll be much help though :? Been too long since I did the conversion, memroy not what it use to be :P
I basically followed the tech doco on here, so where ever that said to get the power from is more than likely where I did it.
Good luck with it mate

What an eventful day, car show in the morning, boxcar repairs in the afternoon
The wagon has had steering and braking issues to the point where the brakes failed on me a couple of days ago and only just managed to get them back before I went flying through an intersection  There has been a lot of clanking and banging going on from the front left wheel, and I found out why this arvo!

Good thing I had a spare set of these in the spares parts department down the back yard :P
Image
Now I have had these sitting in a box for a couple of years, and not sure what they were off. As you can see from the pic's, they were a little different, but I just removed the appropriate sized shims that made up the difference

There is still a bit of play, mostly from the lower ball joint, but I put it back together and took it for a run and the steering is very tight and responsive, and no more clunk, bang........f**k I have no brakes! Now to visit ole evilbay and get me a set of upper and lower ball joints, they not looking too good either

That was then, this is now! The wagon started to develop a knock in the front right wheel as well. Turned out to be worse than the passenger side I did a couple of months ago

Also put in a new Leather steering wheel whilst I was out playing with it :D

Steering and braking much better (and safer  )now!

BTW, Go JC and DJR, made my day
Won tickets and accomodation to the Sydney Telstra 500 so will be all decked out in my Jim Beam gear and giving the boys my support to win the championship. Good to be a Ford Fan Eh!

Ditto the Go DJR!! massive DJR fan too! had heard that the blue bushes chop out, I was told by mechanic to get the red ones (ie:- nolathane over super pro) but seems I didn't need them, look nice on the shelf (in stock) though!

Got the Lane out for a run yesterday, put a new battery in it and never missed a beat! Think I might have to take it for a run down to the Sydney Telstra 500 next week......only 5 more sleeps now
Also found out that I won a training session with Tony Hawk as part of the prize. been 20 years since I last rode a skateboard so should be interesting
So, who's going?

Good stuff Ross! I still have your number so let me know if you go and we'll catch up for a brew or two! The wife is more excited than I am (her first time at the v8 supercars), so I doubt that we'll leave the track for the 3 days
Just found out that we have to be at the track by 9am Friday for the Tony Hawk training session and meet'n'greet, so will be leaving very early to kick the weekend off
Your mobile number still ends in 760 right???

Good stuff, I'll be in touch on the day. Ditch the BBQ plate mate, the manifold badges do look much better, only thing I need to do now is pinch the wifes polished manifold to really bling up the Lane's engine bay
