Ford NZ sold these new for $82,000 in factory spec. All the extras were more $$. I just wish NZ had more of them so parts were easier to get, you have no idea how gutted I am that Mick has one of these (or should i say two?) sitting in his backyard. I would love the chance to get one to wreck as I haven't come across any of the DC V8 model in NZ yet, have only been able to get parts from other I6 Fairlanes and no LTD's. |

Does seem like an awful shame to wreck it.
Just keep as much as you can. Even lots of 5.0 specific bits, even little things may come in useful for people. Some of that stuff is hard to get. |

The DC took it's last breath today! Threw a battery in, fired it up and moved it to the other side of the carport. Surprised the fire brigade didn't show with the smoke that was bellowing out of it
Got a bit pulled of it, mostly the front clip, and started dismantling the engine bay......interior door cards removed and a few other bit's n pieces! Won't be much left by the time I'm finished with it, just a rolling shell if anyone wants a clean chassis! Boots quickly filling up with goodies to be sold off! BTW! anyone know what the yellow wire is on the injector loom that runs somewhere down the back of the engine? Someone already has dibs on the injector loom, but getting under the car to disconnect it properly is an issue Oh! and one of the other old girl I found sitting down the back yard Even Suzi got a little attention and a temporary roof over it's head

The yellow wire looks like the starter motor trigger wire Mick.

DC looked good to me also when I bought it from Ebay without first inspecting, but mechanically, it's a piece of s**t! Trans is screwed, engine blew up on the F3 on the trip home, but other than that it's OK I suppose. Bought it with the intention of doing it up, but now I just want it gone......piece by piece if that's how it has to happen! It's a DCII isn't it? I'll take that mirror off you, perhaps next pay?

No worries mate! I'll sit it aside, just let me know when you want it....postage should only be about $8-$10, maybe less. Shoot me a PM with your address and I'll reply with bank details.
It's a 92 LTD, so if it's the same as the Lane then yes, it's a DCII Cheers, Mick

I think one of the best cars Ford ever made was a DCII V8 LTD in Cardinal red. Are you going to remove the LTD glass? Does that one have the carpet and leather padded kick panels, the ones that cover the ECU? Also does it have the velour/fuzzy coated A-pillar etc trims?

I'm only keeping a few things, so to be fair and stop the teasing, the "special" rear qtr glass is all mine, along with the kick panels, woodgrain and electric seat bases.......everything else is fair game It does have the velour interior trim pieces, but not in the best condition The rear qtr glass interior trims have been spoken for as well as the front drivers side A-pillar trim, but are dependant on me getting them out unbroken and in good condition. Will let you know what ends up happening with it all. I am hoping to remove everything possible, as close to a bare shell as I can.........taking it as a learning experience to learn as much as I can about the NC/DC's from the inside-out, should be fun I have an old house down the back of my property that is fast becoming my personal spare parts department. If ever the worst should happen and the Lane cops any damage, I should have it covered!
