Well man, the things you have suggested already are a good start.

Maybe lower it a bit, replace any stuffed suspension bushes with poly/nolethane bushes for a tighter feel. You could polish up the turbo blades & they would look good. Interior, you could get some covers off ebay & redo the seats if you feel the need, or upgrade to the factory ghia option seats, if you like them. I personally like the "full leather" ghia spec seats, but it is a lot of mono tone grey, they would be better with some color added to break the grey up.

Engine wise, good idea to fit a later model engine down the track, if you can get one low enough in km, otherwise, unless you are chasing big power, not too much reason to think about a more modern engine, just rebuild the engine you have if there is nothing majorly wrong with it.

Cheers

If the eb is going to be a daily driver i would start off with reliability, ie brakes, steering and suspension. as for mods probably the best bang for buck would be to the exhaust system, extractors, cat, and sports system, you should get better performance and sound. A tickford front would really improve the look of the car, interior can be updated to ef without much fuss.

Man cheapest way for your exhaust is probably ebay, if to no avail there then next would be your local exhaust shop, ebay have cat back systems for around the $220 mark (roughly), you cat can vary in price so do some shopping and headers are your biggest outlay, headers can range from a basic pair which is around $250 up to competion headers which are around $500, if you are on a tight budget try and scout threw the forums for people selling ther old system off cheap and you can usually pick up the complete system for around the $250 mark.

Hope that helps bud, she looks like a very tidy base to start with so try and keep her that way.

Cheers

Hi Junior,

Welcome to the forums. Do a lot of searching through the threads, and you should be able to find everything you need to know...

Looks like a pretty tidy car for a paddock basher...........just dont bash it against anything. Ebay is your friend for some good bits, and keep an eye out in the for sale forum......

You work part time?? Gonna be hard to do a car up (even modestly) without a half decent job. Sounds like you have your head screwed on properly. Bad luck about being born into a family that knows nothing about cars.....but hey....that what this gr8 forum is for.

Cheers

Get out there with the whipper snipper and get it all cleared around the car.
Cars get old real quick sitting like that. The constant moisture inthe grass up under the bodya nd against the sills will only lead to major hassles down the track.
Its a tidy car for a first one!
Where in Sydney are you? Maybe one day a couple of members can pop over and check it out to let you know what you might have to start looking at doing to get it back on the road.
Get it back onthe road , safe and reliable before worrying about mods.
