This car is looking awesome, i love the progress you have made. So when does it get painted all up? have the front or back been scraping with the lows in?

Poor bastard indeed... :x

Motors stuffed, auxiliary shaft seized 5mins after replacing the head gasket for no reason... just to piss me off I guess...

Picking up the new motor today but being back into the thick of Year 12 means it's gonna' take about a week before it's all fitted and working :(

It's getting all painted up as soon as I can drive the goddamn thing around to my spray painter :x I haven't had any issues with scraping... This kit is designed to look a hell of a lot chunkier without actually being much lower to the ground than the standard front and rears so there's really not much difference...

It would be good to find out what was the actual cause so others who attempt to do the headgasket job on their car dont have the same thing happen...

Timing belt tension maybe?

Nothing to do with the head... Just a freak thing that happens sometimes... Dont ask me why! I got a bunch of mates who are mechanics and they all said the same thing... s**t happens I guess...

Someone may come along and correct me but as far as I know it's just a freak thing.

EF... 150 000km tested with 3 months warranty - $500. I really couldn't be stuffed messing around with an AU motor. I just wanted to drive it again so I can get my kit painted.

Towed it down to Dad's work tonight and got half the tranny bolts undone, extractors off and few other little bits and pieces.

We should hopefully have the new motor all bolted in tomorrow if not running.

Well... Finished fitting my new motor tonight... Didn't get it done on the weekend as Dad accidentally picked up an EL motor instead of an EF one so we had to wait for the EF motor...

But man am I glad I waited!! For starters it has 9mm spark plug leads fitted, doesn't really affect performance much but still a good things. Plus the head has been off it at some stage and it feels like its had some work done and we think it's also fitted with a mild cam... I don't really care if it's all in my head coz it's driving like a dream. Hell of a lot more power and throttle response than before.

I'm a happy boy :D Plus I found a gunmetal grey bootlid in good condition for $60...

Car will be getting sprayed next week! :D

Well it means I don't have to pay the $150-$200 that the panel beater was going to charge me to weld and bog up and respray my existing boot lid.
