I want a BA :) Always have. Now circumstances are permitting me to get one. So I am. It'll probably be a more or less standard XT or Futura and I'll start the process all over again

haha i was thinking the same about a BA...... but when you think about it, all the money you spent on buying and modding a BA, you couldve turned the EF into a much better car

Plus e-series parts are only getting cheaper, but the ba spares are still fetching top dollar....

Thats well and good but unless you're going to keep it for ever you'll get bugger all back when you have to sell it. I was lucky to get a high price for mine when I sold it a few months ago but sadly EFs are worth next to nothing these days. They're good value for someones first car though and likewise so are BAs for someone who has 10k to spend.

It's the Australian car market.. Our cars are worth bugger all after 1 year, 2 maximum!

Exactly right. I never planned on keeping my EF forever as I have loved the BA since the first time I saw it in the Wheels October 2005 edition  They're just sooo much sexier. And so much easier and cheaper to mod. A full Typhoon kit for a BA is $800! My kit cost me $1500!! Then there's the added bonus of the XR6T and Typhoon motors which are a hell of a lot easier and cheaper to swap into a stock BA than turboing an EF.

I was lucky enough to get my car for a good price when I bought it. And all the work I've myself with second hand or cheaper parts so I will only be losing a few thousand on it. Which is money well spent for the head turns, comments and fun I've had :D

Speaking of BAs... What do people think about this? ...

The exhaust, intake and suspension work alone would be worth $3k ish.

Very nice, other than the wheels and tail lights.

Ha! Only thing I'd tell him to take off before I bought it would be the lights and wheels. And NA6 plates? I think not...

As the BA stands now? Very wanky... but other than the wheels and tailights, itll be a great starting base for a fully modded Ford! Imean, most of the basic mods are completed. Now you need to put your own custom touch towards it. I'm not sure about the K's on it? Bit high for a couple of year old car. Especially if Telstra owned it, then it'll be mainly suburban driving. But other than that, can't argue with the price and those mods.

Are you going to sell your EF first then get a BA? Or when the right BA comes up, you will snap that up, and sell the EF afterwards?

Yeh, good base is all I'm looking at. Engine mods have been done. I'd never buy an SS Inductions kit but wouldn't mind one so that's cool.

I'll either buy the BA first or sell the EF first. Which ever come first!

Not worth it...... why not wait a bit longer and buy an XR6T? Theres a lot of work to be done to put an XR6T motor into any other car, including other B-series. If you do get a BA dont modify much at all, maybe stuff like wheels/suspension which can be transferred onto an XR6T, but really it'd be so much easier and cheaper to buy a 6T rather than make a 6T.

True. Truth is I don't want to stuff around with the bothers of a turbo. Not that XR6T's have many problems but still, it's something else that can go wrong. I'm more of an asthetics person. I'd rather a car that sounds and looks like it goes fast because there's really no where to use powerful cars any more.
