Re-spraying is easy but VERY time consuming. To do it properly, remove everything and spray it all properly takes hours.

The paint I use is Septone Plastic and Vinyl Paint. You can get it from Supercheap Auto for $11-$15 a can.

It's magic stuff. I rushed my first spray job and the paint eventually peeled in some places. The second time I did my dash, centre section etc I cleaned the surface thoroughly with thinners, gave it a light tack coat and then two good coats over the top. I swear my plastic scratches before the paint does.

I did all four of my doors yesterday using only two and a bit cans.

And no problems Shakn. Just kicking myself that it wasn't around when I wanted a kit...

Rang around today to get quotes on re-upholstering....

$2500 should cover it... The bloke I used to get to re-upholster my gear has retired :(

I sure as hell am not spending $2500 on my interior!

So I'm thinking I'll order a set of these instead. They look the part... http://cgi.ebay.com.au/LEATHER-SEAT-COV ... dZViewItem

I just looked at them on ebay and they look brilliant......Something like that with the Ford logo embossed into them would be awesome.

Well I'm ordering a set now. Getting the same design as in that ad. but with navy blue where the red is. Embossed with the FORD logo. I'm also getting a cover for the centre console lid and a handbrake boot. Costing 780 all up. Not bad if you ask me...

Serious? Wow, cheaper and probably as good as retrofitting other seats into the car.

I had the opportunity to get a set of Ghia trims for cheap but turned them down as I didn't want to be stuffing around with all the extra material, woodgrain inserts and rear electric windows.

The Futura door trims are the same as the XR trims so it'll look good.

Thanks suttoo. I'm also ordering a black cut pile replacement carpet and getting my roof re-trimmed. Then all I have to do is my parcel shelf which will be piss easy. If I need any other parts then I'll drop you a line. I've already got a nice group of friends who, between them, have a few wrecked EF/EL's I can get cheap parts off of.

Boot install has been finished for a while now. It's not a majorly pro job but it does the trick. Pictures on page 5 and 6 or look in my gallery.
I'm going to be doing a bit more work on it in the coming weeks but not much will change as far as how it looks goes.

Just ordered some more goodies for the car.

- Personalised number plates. I was surprised what I chose wasn't already taken.
- New high-flow cat and exhaust system to replace my rooted cat and damaged exhaust.

My bank balance has almost reached zero :) I'm going to have to start working again soon...
