negative

rims need to be done first then lowering
this way u can make sure the car sits correctly and u do not go to low
u could end up with tyre scrubbing on the guards

$400 bargains seem to be the order of the day!!!!

Nice pickup, and I like the rims. They higlight the chrome strip on the Fairmont.

Re the EA grill, it may not fit on the ED bonnet. EA, EB and ED have different pressings underneath where the grill bolts up. It is possible to fit an ED grill to an EB bonnet, but not the other way around. If you are replacing your bonnet, source an EB one.

I note you are in Western Sydney. You should come down to Liverpool to Krispey Kremes on a Friday night and say HI.

Cheers
BenJ

i think youve done great for $400, and even if the rims aernt every1 cup of tea.. youve got rims AND tyres for a very good price (unless i read it wrong).

if u dont have anything nice to say in some1s thread, get out instead of putting your unwanted 2 cents worth in

Cheers for the positive comments guys.
Yeah BF got the wheels and brand new tyres together as a package.
Thanks for the heads up Ben. Ill try and track down a biscayne blue EB bonnet. Cant be stuffed painting one at the moment , too much other stuff to do. As soon as I can track down the bonnet Racedirector can get the chrome ED grille.
Ill come over to KK's one night. I just want the old heap to look a bit better then it does at the moment before I take it for a cruise.

Scored a set of EL thermos tonight for $40 off good old ebay. Just picked them up and they all seem to be in order. Will try and get them on in the next few days.
Im thinking just for the challenge I might try and build this car as cheap as possible using parts sourced from evilbay and the forums only.
Will be interesting to see just what results are achieveable with minmal outlay.

Scored a set of lowered springs and front struts yesterday for $40. Seems there is a pattern forming here!
They are Kings lows so they will do for a while. The front will drop quite a bit once I put the V8 in it , then Ill just chase up some lower ones for the rear to match it up.
AT least the 4x4 stance should be gone by the end of the weekend.

Not bad mate, with a few other mods she'll be looking nice. Maybe do the mirrors, door handles and c pillar in that real looking chrome paint to add some more chrome to the car. Then again might be over board.

Regarding you over heat prob, it may be that your water pumps stuffed and not cycling the water fast enough to keep the engine cool when she is sitting idling. See how you go after fitting the thermo's.

I like globes too i.e. my gallery :)
