Decided today to fit the good old evil bay $40 rear springs and front struts.
Bought them as lows. Looked at the part numbers and checked the King Springs web site while I was installing them and they are actually super lows. Sweeeet!

Anyways got them all in rather uneventfully , gave it a quick was at the carwash to clean all the greasy hand marks off it and clean off the loads of road grime from the last weeks rain in Sydeny and decided to take a couple of pics of it at the new ride height.
Slowly but surely its coming together.

Where's all the critics now eh! You've done the budget builders proud mate :D
Must have been the day for dumping cars.....dropped my rear to SL's today as well :)
Now for a set of clear indicators and repeaters and she'll be looking sweet as 8-)

Thanks for the kind words guys. The clear indicators and repeators are on the hit list thats for sure.
Have to track down a sunroof of some description for it I reckon.
Then sort out the numerous dings and bruises it has , get some paint happening and then the fun will start with the driveline.
Will most likely put my V8 LSD in over the Chrissy break. I have too much drinking to do before then!

looking good. 400 seems the going price for boxcars lately. i just wish i could find some lowered springs in brisbane that cheap... i did however pickup an XD XR boot spoiler in my correct colour for 26 bucks on ebay, and a XR front lip for 40 bucks in primer, (now red) so i guess that makes up for it..

i may have missed it but you said you were putting in a stereo system??? whats it consist of?

Stereo is just going to be a mix of bits and pieces I have laying around at home at the moment and whats already in the car.
It had Pioneer 6x9's in the back when I bought it.
Will look at getting some Pioneers or something for the front doors. Its only a 4" that will fit in behind the factory speaker grilles hey?
Have a Sony Xplod 12" boxed sub int he spare room and a Clarian amp. No where near as good as the Fusion in my 4x4 but will do for Mr ED at this time.
It will be improved upon over time. The box will get a build out later on in the build once I have sorted the LPG conversion etc out.

Put the thermo fans in the other night. Piss easy job.
Set the switch so the fans kick in at the M in normal and they drop back to just above the N in about 15 seconds. Was a hot day out in the ruff today and it didnt overheat once with the air going in traffic so happy with that. I still need to hook up a relay for one fan to run constantly off the air con.
Its really ripping into the available voltage but. I had the alternator and battery tested and all is good , its just the amount of power the fans suck. I asked the auto spark about any upgrades for the ED alternator and the reply was none. So just gunna have to make do for a while.

Plans for the car next year are clear indicators and repeators , sunroof of some description , find an EB bonnet as mine is stuffed , fit my set of nice straight panels I have sitting here and repaint the car. Car will be in biscayne blue again with a charcoal from the rubbing strip down and the bars like the XE esps. Can anyone do a photochop for me of this colour scheme? I think it will look sweet. No body kit on this one I like the clean lines. Windows will also be tinted DARK after rego.

Then it will be power up and party time!

Here are a couple of pics of my true love. Ford Maverick 4x4 with a injected 5.0 from a NCII fairy that I converted myself at home. The entire truck has been built in my little surburban driveway.
Has 4" lift runs 35" Baja Claws , 4.625 diff gears , front locker and heaps of other bits and bobs.
These shots are from the photoshoot for 4wd Action Custom magazine. It is meant to be in the January issue which is on sale Jan 16th 2009.
Something different. Enjoy hopefully!

Thanks mate. Ill have to have a look see what I can do cause the new front doors I have are EB I ones. Maybe Ill just fix the few dings on my current front doors and just replace the back ones.
There is no difference looks wise between EBI and ED doors is there?
Also whats the best way to pop the internal door lock buttons to remove the trims with out snapping the arms off like I normally do?

Cheers Guys.
At this point its highly unlikely a T5 will go in and even more unlikely that one will go in once the hunt for grunt starts.
I have gotten somewhat used to the much easier art of doing burnouts with only 2 pedals to worry about.

Bargain buy there. Another statistic, as the boxcars are best value cars now. I figure the ones that are still on the road will have had any issues sorted. My 2 EA's I've had have been great, admittedly the current one needed a new head but they are great value.

I've just bought a set of BA XR6 knock offs', 17" on the way from VIC this weekend, and am thinking it's a good size, as 17" tyres are so common, they're an affordable tyre, so your wheels are fine dude.

I reckon you should loose the mudflaps now :D King SSL's are the way to go too. The story with my EA is similar all about waiting for items at the right price, and everything has been top gear either new or used, but I just wait until it's cheap!

Oh boy, I just love ya Maverick - what an awesome machine. Did a bit of offroading years back doing crazy things in the forests of NZ. Loved it! I'll definitely be grabbing the mag for a close up nosy :)

Oh, and your EB is coming along nicely too, great colour! Well done on both...

Cheers
RD
