Nice progress mate! Should look great when its done. Very unique too.

don't you loose a s**t load of features if you use the manual ecu in a ghia? (unless its an el gt one)
or is it for another project.

Keep it up anyway mate. Can't wait to see it done :)

starting to look good, and good on you for giving it a go.

lucky you have a air sander at your disposal, cause it looks like you and the air sander are going to form a good friendship for a few more hours yet LOL

Looking good. Keep up the good work Mitch! What sorta time frame are you looking at getting the kit done?

I might also add, it does look like a great mont as is with those rims...

Do not use resin alone to fill gaps, it is not strong enough on its own. Use Fiberglass Filler. also use this where you were going to bog, much stronger and wont flake out on you. Ensure the fiberglass is clean and dust free before going ahead. By the way, make sure you get some 60 grit sanding discs, Glass filler is as hard as concrete. I have been known to use a belt sander :D .

yes yes we doo the old air hose fitting tried to keep us apart by unscrewing and losing the ball bearings which resulted in me cracking the s**t and getting a new one

well did 15 minutes worth of grinding and sanding on the rear bar this afternoon,

BEAR80 - i found a new bestfriend it's called a flap disk

using the flap disk helped get the airbubbles out and got it in shape and then just used the airsander to make it look neat, just need to resin the other side fix the cracks and mounts and then fibreglass fill the rest of them

pictures up soon

today, i decided to put the body work to the side and play with my air intake,

i got the idea from my brother as he did it in his ef a few years ago,

now what i've done is gotten the bell mouth intake from an ef,
and mark it about half way at the open end and then at the top flush with the airbox,
like this
Image
then i got a ruler and marked a straight line between the too makrs and cut it off with the angle grinder resulting in this
Image
after this i bolted it back to the el airbox,
Image
this is what i did so that the airbox would seal onto the el pipe
Image
cut the el part in half
Image
then cut the centre out of this
Image
trimmed it all down so that it had no dags or lose parts in it,
went to put it in the airbox, and had to cut the little tagg nuts off the outside so it was round, then i stickafelxed it so it seal better and then left it out to dry before putting it back onto the car

this picture shows the diffrence in the size of the el and ef intakes
ef left el right

just don't tell the air sander LOL

flap discs work really well for sanding and cutting back purposes, also look at scotch brite pads for removing paint as it may turn out to be another friend.....LOL
