if you now have bent valves, there is a chance your cam timing was out..

That's a lot of valves to bend in one go. Be interested to know what caused it. Valve springs not up to the task?

If cam timing was good I'd say something has come adrift behind timing case. Crank gear hasn't slipped over the key?
