I managed to get my hands on another ef head in good condition, for a good price too. Now I'm wondering, what head gasket kit would I use to put it on. The 3.9l head gasket kit or the 4.0l kit? Is there any difference between the two? Thanks :)

Use an AU head gasket. If done right, it will never need to be done again.

AU METAL head gasket. there is still composite gaskets for AU's...

but any gasket from EA-AU will fit

be be careful as the timing cases differe and have a different gap. some only need a cork gasket, others need a taller rubber one. i think EA-ED use the cork but you can also use the rubber style

long time no post....forgot my password then forgot the password for the email account... haha all fun. any way just want to chuck up a few pics of what i have been up to.

Well the Ltd is still slowly getting there and i just recently replaced the carpet, (looks fantastic inside now.)have also done a full transmission service, fixed up the brakes by rebuilding the master cylinder and also machined front rotors and put new pads on. allot better now it actually stops.

other things i've done, include cleaning up dads Ef fairmont and giving it a polish. it honestly came up fantastic. also polished dads Au fairmont ghia, i absolutely love the thing, even more than my old man. since i'm 17 i'm still on my L's and i love driving it, especially with the V8 and IRS rear end!!!

Will get pics up a.s.a.p

Had a great day (sofar) today, as I woke up this morning to find someone had thrown an egg at it. So I had to give the car a good wash. But the smell of egg is still present. :x
