Hey guys,
My project is my fathers old 1990 ltd. he gave the car to me ruffley two years ago. but i have only started the project about a month ago(as the car is finally in melb now,as it was up in bendigo at my dads house). When I started The project the ltd had just been sitting in the backyard sinking into the ground. the ltd was due for a new distributor and module as it would not start. Since installing that and getting it started I have discover the transmition is not healthy(4speed) as after You drive around a little it would just drop our of gear and not re engage until I put it in park and then back into drive. I have also discovered some rust which I need to fix(rust on the ltds is very common). I plan to keep the car mostly original but with just a few mods. The first thing I'm going to do is fix the rust!!. and later on in the project I'll get it resprayed (as sitting outside for two years has effected the paint). after i get it free of rust ill put in some lowered springs followed buy some nice rims(any suggestions on the rims). after the rims are on i hope to do a full 2.5inch sports exhaust system. if along the way through the project, i come across a full leather interia ill change it over. ill get some photos up soon. |

Just an update about the ltd. Since I last posted I've been giving the car a good going over and clean. I decided to do a full out clean so I've removed the rear light, etc. But I encounter a problem when i tried to remove the light set up in the boot(reverse lights and number plate panel) I unscrewed all the bolts but it still won't budge. Has any one got some advice?

G'day mate, welcome to the LWB club Looks like you have a great canvas to start your build on.
With the rear garnish, they usually come out pretty easy, but years of built up dirt and crap sometimes make them stick. Just give each of the mounting bolts (with the nuts still on a couple of turns out) a light tap with a hammer and it should free it up. Good luck with the build mate, will be watching closely Cheers, Mick

I have recently started dismantling my DC, like I said, the garnish came out quite easy. How have you gone with yours?
