Finally got round to giving the old girl a birthday...Vacuumed the interior then gave the ute a wash followed by a quick polish. Came up pretty nice.
Also put my new Ford Bougicord leads on this morning too. The Hurricane leads were only 7.0mm thick and were buggered where they plug into the coil pack. Now with the new leads there is no more miss and it idles real nice.

A couple of days ago I had to replace the short water pump by pass hose as the original one had a slight split in it allowing coolant to seep out just below the hose clamp. Anyway, I put the new one on and stupid me accidentally broke the upper radiator hose where the small hose from the header tank attaches to the radiator hose...The plastic broke off. I've ordered a new one from Bayfords on ebay. It should have been here today but it hasn't arrived so I'm going to have to wait until Monday.
I started the ute up without any coolant just for a moment so I could move it out of the shed and noticed it was running rough. Could it be that the coolant temperature sensor is sending a wrong signal to the ECU causing it to run rough? It was running perfectly until I had to replace the by pass hose.

The girlfriend and I went for a cruise up to Wentworth NSW this morning...
Visited a small vintage tractor display for something to do... A good excuse to take the ute out for a drive. Also checked out where the Darling River meets the Murray.

A few weeks ago I fitted footwell courtesy lights to the ute to give it a little more appeal when the doors are open at night. And today I fitted the rear console light too...They are all wired up to the light just above the ignition. A simple yet effective mod.
Also noticed that the factory head unit keeps spitting out CD's. I used one of those cleaner CD's with the two tiny brush things on it hoping that would fix it but nope, Still the same. Perhaps it doesn't like heavy metal If I replace the head unit with another factory one would I need that specific four digit code or would I use the same code as my current one?

Been a while since I last updated this thread.
Anyway, I bought a nice polished Hopper Knocker 5 post bullbar for the ute and also bought a set of Roo Lite 220 lights. Next on the list will be a new UHF aerial because the one I'm currently using is buggered. I also bought a set of clear Narva indicators for it too. I'll have to take some better pics once I've got the rest of the stuff for the ute.

I scored big time today... I was on the hunt for a decent UHF aerial and liked the GME AE4706 but they usually retail for around $275-$290. While I was in Red Cliffs today I called into Kulkyne Kampers, The 4WD/Camping place and he had a GME AE4706 in there marked at $240. I asked what the best price he could do on it and he said $175. I paid the man and walked out with a big grin on my face knowing I'd saved myself around $100

You could mow down a whole herd of cows with that bar and still do no damage to the ute

As much as I love the look of the 5 poster bullbar I don't think I'll be keeping it...I can't really justify having it to be 100% honest. Out of all my years driving I've only ever hit 12 roos (Seven of those were full size adults too). Here in Mildura there aren't many roos, They are mainly out in the sticks and I often see them around Hay and Balranald.

I had three jump out at once right in front of me when i was in Balranald on my travels lol. Had to resort to crazy stunt man driving all over the road haha. (lucky no cars coming other way lol)
Yeah you may not think its necessary, but i can almost guarantee while you have it on you probably wont even see a roo, and as soon as you take it off you will hit one and wish you'd kept it on lol.

You're probably right mate. Always the way isn't it...Murphys Law, lol. Another reason I'm considering removing the big 5 poster is that I'm not too sure if RACV would still insure me with it on the ute. It's got the proper airbag compatible mounts on it but even so, I reckon alot of insurance companies might not like it.

RACV gave me the all clear regarding the bullbar so I'm happy. Put my new UHF aerial on today too. Next items on the agenda are 1" lowering blocks, A new head unit with USB input and eventually another set of wheels for it then it will be done (Until I find something else I want for the ute).

I scored these off ebay for only $22 posted. They are brand new and will be perfect for securing the Roo Lites on the bullbar. The places that stock them here in Mildura are charging around $45-$50 for them.

Hopefully sometime over the weekend I will be spraying the side moulds Winter White to match the rest of the ute. I will also be removing the Supercab decals too. This should make it look even better. I'll post some pics once it's done.

Nothing really to update at the moment so thought I'd chuck up some pics of the ute with the big GME AE4706 UHF aerial.
