well got it back on the ground again after fixing a slight error of mine the night before.
it helps if i had the brake line on the right side of the shock strut. oh well all fixed now. {DESCRIPTION} took it for a drive finally. saying it goes well is a understatement got up to speed easily and felt firm and flat on the road. so it will be interesting what some twisty roads would be like to drive in this other than that got the passenger side done, and centre console refitted tomorrow's job is to just finish the drivers door and refit the trim, and the couple of niggly things to rectify before friday. oh and clean out the unnecessary crap out from the boot got the rocker cover sorted so all i need to do is give the motor a once over to get rid of the oil. but that being said it looks rather nice in the motor. so it's been looked after {DESCRIPTION} {DESCRIPTION} {DESCRIPTION} also some pictures of going over to electric windows too. so once the trims are off, i remove the speakers as it can be annoying when the rg gets stuck on the magnet! {DESCRIPTION} my old door trim. {DESCRIPTION} all ready to go {DESCRIPTION} these are the rivets that need to be drilled out. if they are bolted in.. bonus job is easier by a lot. so i just use a hammer and a punch to belt the centre of the rivets out, then i just drill them out {DESCRIPTION} {DESCRIPTION} the old makita at it again lol {DESCRIPTION} manual window reg removed.. {DESCRIPTION} electric one back in.. i just bolt them in as i'm not that much of a sadist pop riveting them back in interior now looking like one. just gotta claen out the drivers side and refit the drivers door trim tomorrow! also have the centreconsole bolted down etc now so i'm basically on the home run till friday when i find out what i need to rectify to get the rwc {DESCRIPTION} mmm 5 speed {DESCRIPTION} |

well i got the first rwc check done.. pity it failed, but i have 7 days to return it with the issues fixed.
i'll likeley try to have it registered monday or tuesday though, as i'll only need to visit a tyre place in ballarat to fix issue 4 what i need to do to get the greenslip RWC. 1) replace windscreen 2) recify centre brake light 3) replace rh rack boot 4) replace both rear tyres. so i have got a bit done already 1) already done as o'brien windscreens could do it today 2) it was suggested to remove it to pass rwc as it needs to work if fitted. i had a little fun with pulling it apart and fitting a smd (led) light in there instead 3) i have the parts.. will do it tomorrow as i cbf'd doing it tonight 4) both have bad camber wear, thats whats unrw about them both must of been on the front with a bad wheel alignment oh well i have 2 near new tyres here on other mags so i'll just get them put on the s pack alloys. so in reality it's a little list, mostly little stuff. just the windscreen that wasnt cheap $220 fitted, oh well i suppose it needs it to keep the rwc tester happy! |

well for anyone thats interested.. i fitted a smd led bar to my parcel shelf light to pass a rwc.
here is showing you how. lift up the parcel shelf carpet, or remove. use a small screw driver (from inside the boot) to push up the retaining pins to slide the unit backwards, then use a pair of pliers to squeeze the back lugs so they pass through the shelf. this is mine removed.. {DESCRIPTION} as you can see. mines badly melted {DESCRIPTION} the silver reflector and lens just clip into the grey housing. the clips are at the back of the light housing {DESCRIPTION} now the red reflector unclips from the reflector. just be careful as it may be a little fragile! {DESCRIPTION} now the next thing i did was used a stanley knife to cut out the meted damage to aid getting it back together. as i had to pry mine apart to seperate the melted plastic. but one thing i noticed that was odd. there is a globe holder in the rear of the reflector.. that was covered with tape. i removed it to run my wires the smd.. {DESCRIPTION} now all i did was take the backing off the double sided tape after figuring out the placement for best light sitting at the back on the reflector works best {DESCRIPTION} then some silicon came out to play to make sure it held. {DESCRIPTION} then put it back together. and refitted it {DESCRIPTION} powered up {DESCRIPTION} now in the car.. looks stock dont it? {DESCRIPTION} and lastly the brakes applied.. be interesting to see how bright it is in the daytime! {DESCRIPTION} sorry for the pic quality of the last 2 pictures. camer batteries went flat, and it appears the camera i was using doesnt like the dark |

They are real fragile those tail lights hey. I was a bit heavy handed with mine when I modded it a while back and broke a plastic clip, luck I had a spare.

well it passed the 2nd RWC test on monday.
got the tyres and a wheel alignment at jax tyres in ballarat, but they were short staffed and couldn't correct my camber problem. needed shims, and they were booked solid all day. took it to get registered with the camber out etc. and drove it back home. it cruises rather niceley and sits on the road well. i'll be replacing the clutch soon as i'm not entirely happy with the one in it, as its worn out and on the last of its adjustment. i just had it down at beaurepaires near me this morning so the camber is fixed now. and feels better again comapared to the 350 odd k's i did yesterday. and the added bonus i didnt scrub at all or destroy the front left tyre in that distance so i'll post some pics later after i've washed it with its plates etc. other than that. i just need to remount my amp and sub, drive it for a bit and start putting together the v8 and a gearbox etc for when i decide to play swaps later or next year |

excuse the dirty car lol..
been too much fun being mobile again, and also the weather at home isn't the best. so i figured why bother washing it, if its just going to rain later? {DESCRIPTION} only issue i have now.. is even on standard low's i bottom out on the driveway i have a prick of a driveway here. so i either have to remove or trim the mudflaps. and possibly get the exhaust sitting closer to the floor to think i'm empty on lpg too, cant wait to see how i go when i have full tanks parking on the street isnt really a option atm. {DESCRIPTION} it goes up high and i scrape on the hump as it suddenly drops back down to the road level |

just after a few opinions on clutches..
mine needs replacement and kinda not sure if i should go the same as last time. i used a valeo heavy duty last time. i tow from time to time. and it took a bit of abuse well! i'm not considering exceedy as my last one swore me off them, and i know of a few people that had issues with them too i like it very much.. but just thinking is it better to stay with the devil i know or go for better? this is what i had.. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/390025532782 ... 1423.l2649 i got the last one august 2008. i dont know exactly how many k's i got out of it as its been in 3 cars.. and behind 4 motors lol or i'm thinking one of these. extreme heavy duty http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/281026862175 ... 1423.l2649 so any suggestions? other than that. its been going well apart i have a few issues to fix. bows black fuel smoke when cold.. so over fueling but my code reader is picking up that my power steering switch is munted. (electrically) and the nds switch is inop.. well its bridged by the neutral switch so i may have to just connect them together as the switch may be adding too much resistance? |

hmm, i might go with that clutch for me XG. Has an exceedy one in it (second hand had 1000km on it when i shoved it in) and me being in a rush to get it in didn't have flywheel machined and didn't replace thrust bearing or do anything lol. So its already nearly as bad as the old clutch hahahahaha.
