Anything else on the list to do ?

thanks micheal. 8-)

only things on the to do list.. in no particular order really
replace the clutch.. but thats happening after next pay.

tint the window's (i'm only going to go 35%)
fit the impco lpg bits and loom. (B2 converter and a 225 mixer)
fit the trip computer out of the ltd.
fit cruise control
get my extractors repaired and fit those too :twisted:
re spray the front of the car to get rid of the stone chips. and to be able to remove the rotten ed bonnet

make a start freshening up the windsor. and find a manual conversion for that too
always has been part of the plans to make the S pack a v8.

oh and lower it when the v8 goes in, as i only have springs to suit a v8.

the other pics of the driveway..
it doesnt look like a pita on the photo's though.

{DESCRIPTION}
yes its fun reversing down it lol

photo doesnt show how bad it is.
the closest side to the camera is actually lower than the other side of the driveway.
the magna scraped, same for the nf. and so does the eb.
all of them are standard height too :oops:

{DESCRIPTION}

but other than that.
helped a mate get his s pack going again. joys of snapped clutch forks hey?
were in the process of doing the bushes in the front of it, as it was found a few are stuffed.

i found it disturbing it went into a tyre place for a wheel alignment\camber correction. and they couldnt rectify it
might be cos the lca was bent and the upper trailing arm bushes werent there!
all fixed now. just have to do the other side as it feels weird to drive with new poly bushes in one side and worn out rubber in the other side

but a couple of pictures..
{DESCRIPTION}

{DESCRIPTION}
and all 3 are manual..

fun and games.. after a eventful friday night, cant drive it for a short bit.

went to go out found a puddle of coolant under the d\s side of the car.. tightened the hoses as they were slightly loose.
all was good till i got into the city, split end tank anyone??
was not fun limping it home, glad it was a cool night though

so the question is.. i want to confirm a part.
i'm hoping the radiator out of the ltd (v8) will fit.

i have the full ef serpintine setup, which has a 40mm inlet and outlet on the radiator tanks..
i need to know if its likeley if the v8 runs the same?
as i'm aware v8 ef onwards shares the i6 radiator.

so if someone can measure the inlet and outlets on their v8 radiator would be great :D

i'm fitting a new thermostat, as i'm unsure what caused it. and taking it down to natrad after its running to be checked over as i'd rather know now what else is stuffed or caused the failure.

only other things going with it..

wired in the trip computer finally. with help of a mate
used the tutorial on here and my gregories just to confirm wires etc.

dunno if it works yet as my trip computer doesnt work as i found out.
helps if the main circuit board didnt have corrosion. oh well i'll source another.

and in regards to getting the clutch done.
i got lucky at jollys (self serve wreckers). found a manual au xr6 that someone took the gearbox and clutch.
but left the flywheel behind with the bellhousing and clutch fork.. needless to say they are mine now :D

just means the clutch swap is now easily done in a day with little pissing about :)
and i have a spare 6 bolt flywheel

well its going again..

i confirmed eb-ed v8's use a early radiator. 50mm inlet and outlet.
where i needed the 40mm inlet outlet.

fitted a new radiator to the eb, to fix the issues.
and decided its a wise idea to do the hoses too. i'll be doing the heater and under the manifold ones when the clutch is done hopefully.

ended up getting a jayrad. thanks heaps to a mate too :D
{DESCRIPTION}

{DESCRIPTION}
nice copper cored one too, i wasnt a fan of the alloy ones but i was going to need a radiator regardless.

{DESCRIPTION}
also fitted a new thermostat as i was able to test mine, but thought why not. cheap insurance to do preventative maintainance

oh and the trouble maker on the old adrad..
fault was the end tank warped, and killed the o ring seal in there. as it felt heavy and the p\s tank was discolouring.. it was is time to go
and cheaper to replace it..
{DESCRIPTION}

on the clutch topic..
ordered and paid for the valeo i had the links to earlier.
decided to stick with what i used last time.

just need to get my spare flywheel machined now. and sort out a time to do it on a flat driveway, as there aint a chance i'm doing it at where i'm living atm

but lastly. my lpg converter appears to have a funny stain mark that looks like lpg residue. but cant see how as all the clamps are tight and the outlet has been secured properly
its a omvl R90e
{DESCRIPTION}
is this nothing to be worried about?

if it is.. i have the setup from the eb ghia still. so it will find its way on and retuned to suit.

ahh.. well i reckon you will have yours fitted before me, but i think you will like it :D .
only time i can get mine done is the 1st of june. :cry: so i have to play nice with the rooted one.

decided it was better to do it payday, then if anything needs replacement it can be done.
but when i was last under the car there isnt anything, but the car hadnt been driven much and it sat at the olds close to 8 ish months before it was driven further than the driveway

also want to replace the coolant hoses i cant get to easily. as i can still see the original jesus clips :cry:
and reroute the lpg coolant lines so it looks tidy.
planning on doing it the same way i did on my magna. do them all then i wont have problems with it

i cant win... :cry:

its off the road again.
last night the powersteering pump seized and snapped the belt and pulley.
had to get it towed to a mates place as i was 100k's from home :(

the powersteering was heavy, but it wasnt making noises. and the fluid looked ok
if anything i prefer heavy steering as i rather dislike light as hell steering.

so what is the easiest way to flush the hoses and rack?
as i'll likeley be fitting a second handy so its going again. be the one time i wished it still had the tri belt setup still!
are there any benefits to refitting the old trans cooler and plumbing it into the p\s return line?

oh and to add insult to injury the throwout bearing is making a few unhealthy sounds now.
so fix one thing so i can fix the other i suppose

Fitting a Trans cooler to the power steering will only help. I have one fitted to my EF, I think the EB didn't get anything to cool the Power steering oil at all, at least the EF/EL got some sort of cooling line. You will be amazed just how hot the power steering oil gets.

yeah. that's what i'm thinking.

no they didn't. only been fitted to v8's and 6 cyl ef onwards.. well from the factory
i have a fair idea on how hot it would get. close to exhaust components, and throw in a nice twisty road its going to howl and make a few unpleasant sounds.

i started to collect the peices to do the external cooler to the au motor in the eb ghia.. never happened as i wrote it off.
so here is hoping i can find the bits i collected to do it still. shame i murdered the pump on that motor :(

swc you have a good way to flush the lines and rack?
as i'm still running the eb rack.

Not sure if it would help but my ed has a cooler hooked up to the power steering and mounted to brackets welded on square tubing part of the k-frame. Not sure its its stock but looks it. maybe you could find out if it was an option and chase one up

your ed a v8?
as the v8's seemed to had gotten the powersteering cooler before the 6 cylinder did. only became standard of ef? onwards 6 cyl

i have one on the ltd (v8) so i might just go grab that one. as mine mounts simular to yours in front of the a\c condensor.

but on other news.. playing clutch swaps today :D
so i'll have some piccys of how rooted the pressure plate really is :shock:

and on the topic of powersteering woes..
i'm fitting a second handy to get it mobile, and sorting out the cooler asap and once i am certain i have no junk from the old pump floating about. i'll fit a new one. sure twice the work etc.. but its how i can afford it atm
and i must get the car out of my mates back yard.

i'm looking for work currently, so my own transport is a good idea

I just read about the pump snapping the belt that seems super unlucky

What door cards are you running again just wanting to see what it looks like I'll need to go back up a few pages as I think pictures are there

Also if a second hand pump make noise and the steering isn't heavy just buy a 17 dolor eBay rebuild kit for the seals as good as "new" then
