Hey mate a word of advice i have learnt the hard way from, Dont ever touch monroe GT sports shocks, they are as hard as a rock, dont really improve handling, cause bad axle hop when ripping some tread and u hit a bump or just taking off fast and hit a bump, ive just about torn the bottom off my seat because the shocks DONT absorb anything, i would have been better putting solid steel rods where the shocks are. Ive been told Koni all the way as they are adjustable.
Just a friendly word of advice.

Thanks for the advice mate..dunno about the koni adjustable coil overs man cause they usually cost around the $2500-$3000 mark arnt they?? bit too pricey for me. i just want somthing that will do the job. Can you point me in the right direction towards what other shocks would be best as i have a budget lol. Ive heard bilstien are pretty good in comfort and handling..

i found very opposite in my el, i have monroe gt shocks all round on kings ssl and found them to A. increase handling ALOT! B. ride quality and comfort is great, dont feel barely ny bumps at all, even more less than my oldies 2007 or watevr it is statesman. i love the shocks and would suggest them to many others

looking forward 2 seeing this build cant wait till u get it back from the shop

Mine are sitting on king ssl too but there is too much recoil for such a hard shocker which doesnt make much sense with regards to the axle tramp. Funny how same shocks are different in same model cars, just that ive heard alot of people not happy with the monroe GT sports as they are built to be stiff. Wish they were as nice as you described nathan in my car. :( . Check out pedders shocks too heard they have some good stuff on the market.

I have Monroe gt's in my EL and Bilsteins in my EF, same springs's in both too.. The Monroes are as kickn_it described. Rough, dont absorb anything. Don't really inspire much confidence on the bends. Haven't noticed any axle tramp but things can get pretty rough. Conversely the Bilsteins are like road glue.. much softer but able to dampen anything. The car feels like it hugs a corner instead of skating around it wanting to do a 360 for the judges. The only thing I can say about the Monroe's is with 18's I have never hit the guards, whereas the Bilsteins have longer travel and it does happen on occasion, but its well worth it.

hey mate....umm its setting me back around $7000 for the conversion but its gonna end up costing me more because i need to get the brakes done which is gonna be $1500 and i need to do suspension...and bigger wheels for traction so maybe all up.just a ball park figure near on $11,000

not quite man....ba xr6 turbos still cost around $16,000 - $18,000 for a decent one and it would cost me a fair wack of money just to insure it....but for what i am doing, my insurance only goes up $10 so its pretty good.

And yeh id rather the el over the ba :)
