Some would be familiar with my car..

Its a narooma blue AU II originally 4spd auto vct and IRS.

First change was the old rims from my EL...which were FG GT 19*8 argents, next was the stereo..JVC double din with sat nav and dvd player.

At the time I was working for CMS so decided a turbo BF engine would look good in there.

Sourced a blown motor and rebuilt it with Atomic rods springs oil pump gears and custom JE pistons. acl race bearings, rest was left stock.

Engine was fitted along with a Fairmont dash as I prefer them to the std ones. ECU was reflash to disable security and a basic tune done. Stayed this way for the next twelve months as basically as I cldnt afford to do anything else.

One night I was driving spiritedly and the oil pump gears exploded !!!!! so stripped the motor, no damaged to the crank or rods, but the head and cams were toasted. So a FG turbo head was recoed and installed.

Then the auto started playing up so a 5 spd manual was fitted along with a exedy heavy duty clutch.

now after a long wait Im finally getting the turbo up and running. Car is getting a 4" exhaust custom made this week, then back to CMS for a soft tune and when I get the funds for a 6 spd manual etc will get a real tune

OK, cars back from CMS after being tuned and wow :P

Just on a soft safe tune it made 360rwkw........feels so much better to drive now and yer kinda goes well lol

Couple of non tune related issues to sort out still, ie ABS light staying on and engine light.....

Some tweaking of the tune and other non related issues have fixed a couple of niggling problems.

ABS and Traction light were staying on, found out i had wired up the ABS module wrong...swapped two wires around and fixed :)

Engine light was staying on as well, turning off the code in the tune fixed it.....

As a interesting side note, the BF cluster displays what gear i happen to be in....i knew the autos did it but never seen in a manual.

Just would like to get the cruise to work now and Ill be happier. I think it may just be a matter of connecting the clutch switch to the ECU.

As a matter of curiosity I am running BF ECU, BF ABS/traction module, BF Cluster and BF steering wheel with cruise buttons and Indicator switch

well....

I knew the gearbox would be the next to break.and i was right lol. coming home from work last night something in the box snapped and i lost all gears bar 4th. Im suspecting the teeth on the input shaft but wont know till I get the box out.

Time for a six speed manual now..have sourced the box, shifter, hydraulics. Need a clutch and im tossing up between mal wood and a NPC clutch. have used mal woods before and happy with his product, but the NPC is a fair bit cheaper for a similar setup.

Have to wait till the box is in and mounted so i can get a custom tailshaft made out of chrome moly.

have decided to go with the NPC clutch kit. Everything should arrive today :) then the fun part of fitting it all.

Have been told that the trans tunnel may need modifying, but looking at it last night when removing the old box am not sure

ok, clutch and box sorted and in.
Hydraulics were a piece of cake to install. Clutch feels nice and light which is good :)
Tailshaft and rear cross member should arrive today.

The only major mod needed was cutting of the trans tunnel as the 6 speed shifter sits approx 1.5" further back.

Starting to get excited again :)

well after much effort and swearing i now have the 6 speed in the car.

I bought the box out of a fire damage car, and while there only appeared to minor damage to it, there wasnt.

Looked like just the rear seal, and shift mechanism was damaged. So I replaced them with new ones, put box in and when i went to put tailshaft in it wouldnt fit as the rear bush had also melted. Extension housing off and new bush installed....

All back together, took it for a drive and thought mmmm...box is noisey..i got 5 klms down the road and it went bang and no gears. So rang the supplier and he is giving me another box. Then to swap it all over again.
