Some more piccies and updates.
I have the weather shields on. I went for the slimline ones because they do look a bit less obtrusive. I also transferred my plates to my new toy. Looks so much better already hehehe. And from the front: Why have the front without the back? Looks sad without a spoiler though hehe Internally, the only thing I have done is put the wheel cover I had from my Fairmont onto this. The reason: So, until I get my claws onto the Momo I'm after, this will do Oh, I also now want to colour code the mirror scalps, or swap them for chromes. Thoughts? |

The BA utes at work all have the same wear from being used so much. What happens when they make the damned things out of rubber. Then have the gall to charge over 300 bucks for them. C*NTS. hehe Last edited by CamFord on Sun Jul 25, 2010 9:11 pm, edited 1 time in total. |

Ok, completed:
* Add cruise control * Add iPod adapter * install new coolant bottle * add weathershields * New bonnet struts I don't have a picture of the iPod adapter, and the cruise has still to be activated at work, but the switches have been installed... at the cost of about 5 litres of Pea and Ham soup. Here at least is a pic of the steering wheel part of the switch: Attachment: 31072010178.jpg Currebntly being worked on: * Install rear power windows. I bought myself four door trims out of an XR6 Turbo yesterday to put in with room for power windows. Attachment: RH_FRONT.JPG Attachment: RH_REAR.JPG Attachment: LH_FRONT.JPG Attachment: LH_REAR.JPG They're in surprisingly good nick. All they need is some trim cleaner and they'll be shining like the rest of the trim. I managed to get the driver's door wiring harness from the fellow who sold the trims to me as well so now all I need to do (thanks George) is power the rear window harnesses and get electric rear regulators. LOL. Easy peasy... Um... well, maybe... For the future: * Spoiler * Alloys * Auto Headlamp * Column shift ashtray if it'll fit. Will be fun finding out. No, I want something that looks a little classier than futura wheels. LOL.
And between us we can almost make an XR interior. :-D |

A set of 18" Turbo Territory rims will look nice too
We have 16 of these wheels in stock, they sell retail for $1010.00 EACH But I think a little chat with the boss will see the price dropped The only problem with these wheels is that Ford obsoleted the Centre caps. |

In the floor shift with console models, Ford put out a tissue holder to go where the ashtray was, put out a box of tissues to go there which they very quickly made obsolete. In order to have an ashtray in a floor shift you need to buy a smoker's pack from Ford and then you lose one of your beverage holders. And no, you can't just get a colum shift ashtray and put it there because the size of the hole is different. I'll get pics of the difference tomorrow to show you. George thinks I'm mad because I don't smoke and he is pretty sure the column shift part wont fit, but I want somewhere to put loose change where it wont move around a lot and make noise and I don't like the smoker's pack ashtray anyway. LOL Maybe it wont fit, but its my time to give it a shot. |

Nice work on the Cruise upgrade, I did the same thing to mine but mine was already activated to my surprise.... Hit the cruise button and it came up Was so easy to do as well.... Use it heaps
Great work on picking up the XR trims, thats one of my plans also.... If you plan on installing power windows you will need to pickup the left and right side body looms also from a Fairmont (XT only have 4 wires on the plug on the rear door connector, fairmont have 8). Mate was looking at mine and told me after I was saying about the tweeters I fitted and left wire was there but drivers side wasnt. Seems mine has a fairmont left loom and a XT right.... Strange things the Factory Taxi Pack Egas Falcons................

Yeah, I have the driver's loom for the 4 way power windows, but not the rear doors. The ford parts program we use at work shows that all BAs have the same wiring harnesses in the back, but when I investigated that this morning, there is no loom for a power window switch in the back. Grrrrr.
Oh well, will keep looking. Guy I got the trims off might still have the looms... I tried the switches too after I put them in, but not activated on mine. LOL |

Always good to see someone convert from an e-series to a b-series
good stuff CamFord. XT's are a good car man, I see them as a car you can leave your mark on and do up the way you want it
