Okay guys, thought I'd finally start a build thread on here of my pride and joy.

My car is a 1997 EL falcon, Factory 5 speed. I bought it in 2011 when I got my l's and it became apart of me lol, i've contemplated selling it numerous times but at the end of the day, there's something holding me back.

So when i bought the car i bought it from an older bloke, it had the usual mods
-Exhaust
-Cd player
-Sub

The car was sitting on stockies all round so when i got it home i chucked some 16" FTR's on it.

A few months later I lowered it as every young person does to there cars, I found some second hand superlow king springs from a mate for $120, once i got them i chucked them straight in.

Soon after that i bought some Pacemaker Extractors with a Magna high flow cat to go with them, they added some colour to the engine bay haha.

Nothing much changed to it in the next year.

Boxing day i picked up a set of 5 18" wheels for it, in pre au offset which was good since it's so hard to find wheels that fit, so once i got them i chucked them right on.

That's all i've done to it so far, i'll keep posting updates in this thread, so more to come :)

So yesterday i painted the hubs, i didnt have any heat proof paint so the best i could get was some flat black paint. To me it looks navy but i don't know lol.

So first thing i did was sand them all back and spray the paint on. Here are the Before and After photo's

Today i'm looking at an ED xr6 Factory Manual in black for swaps with this, dunno if i want to do it or not yet but will have a look at it then decide from there :)

Makes a big difference, nothing ruins the look of your new wheels like rusted hubs, except gutter rash maybe... I didn't use heat proof paint on mine and I found its lasted well, been a year and a half/ 2 years with no flaking or colour change so you shouldn't have any problems.

Okay hopefully it doesn't then we'll see, yeah they have some rash not to bad though.

Ended up looking at the eb xr6 and decided against it due to needing a full respray/exhaust/dents pulled out the bonnet etc.

Also does anyone know a good place in South Australia that does flappers? Got a set of stockies on the car and wanna spruce them up a bit.
