WOOT! i finally pulled my finger out and made myself a custom shifter. I also got a gear boot for it too, so it looks heaps neater.

Image

The only gayness is that the colour don't suit s**t in my car, and i couldn't get one in cappa or anything, so i am thinking about trimming over it with the flame stuff.

As for the shifter, i made it to fit to the box without the stupid f**k rubber damper on the bottom, aswell as being 40mm shorter. These differences make the shift feel so much better and more direct. I also decided on adding the "8 ball" nob, hehe.

Hopefully in the coming weeks i will be purchasing a cam, lsd centre, and diff gears.

Andrew.

Good to see mate coming along, maybe you could unpick the gear boot and use it as a template even.

Also how come your still running a factory head unit? Any plans to change it?

Yeah i could do that too, good idea.

I'm running the factory H/U because i had a cheap s**t jvc before the EF conversion that was only 3 months old and the cd mechanism broke, and the EF donor had the premo sound bar the bottom part of the unit, and the factory amp and stacker were stuffed. So i just plugged in a mp3 stacker and got a kenwood amp cheap to drive the sub. With the JL audio speakers, it sounds pretty good.

I used to have massive stereos in my cars, but now my expensive music systems are in my lounge. :D

I have bought the EB some presents this week. I got a great score off ebay today, thanks to FordFairmont for the headsup.

Image

Pacie 4480's, brand new, $250. And while i was picking them up, the guy mentioned an EB Mont parts car, so i scored this too for $20!!

Image

I'm f**k cheering.

Also, i don't have a picture, but i bought FordFairmont's billet 1543b wade cam, and i have a chip for the ecu on the way. So now i just have to scource some xr spec valve springs, and valves and fit it all up into a spare head, then drop it on!

Can't wait.

Nice pick up mate.

I am jealous of the cam.

I look forward to hear the results.

yeah the headers were a good pickup, and the cam should take you pretty far n/a........ has more duration than 977b and more valve lift than 1521a

Crow Valve springs part no. 7739-12.... $92

Ben - Thnaks mate, yeah what a score, i can't wait to fit it.

Dan - I agree, i think this cam will be very suited to what i want, thanks for the link to the springs also. :)

Mick - Yeah i can't beleive the score, and it all started from the cam leading to the headers, and the headers leading to the Garnish. I fitted it thius morning, i'll post a piccy

EDFairmont - Indeed the price was very right, i was never going to go pacies, i was going to go the cheapskate ones, but these popped up even cheaper!

I will get a few pics, the garnish could use a polish, but it'll come up very nice.

hey andrew, i just fitted my EL seats to my NC today, but the guy i got them off attached the EA-ED inside rail to the EF/EL seat to make them fit. ill get you some pics when i remove the seat to find out whey the passenger wont slide back and forth.

whats the chances of me scoring one of those handbrake cable holders? i have everything else i need apart from that and the diff one.

I can indeed make you a handbrake bracket, happy to help a fellow fordmodder.

Also pics of attachment of ea/b/d rail to ef/l seat would be good.

I just finished fitting my new AU injectors, and all seems a little smoother on idle, i haven't drivin it yet though as i've had a few. Better let that were off before driving.

Hey Hey.

Some happy snaps of the fitted garnish, as i may have said, it could use a little buff up, it'll get it in due time...

I'm so glad to say that my car is officially (besides the build plate hehe) no longer a GLI pov pack! YAY! It now a classy ride, hahaha.

On another note, my sub amp has been playing up for some time, it just isn't powerful enough to even keep up with the front speakers running off the standard HU! So i shopped around today and got a JVC, with double the power for $150. Now it runs efficiently, and therefore won't shut down on me.

Happy times.

Garnish came up a treat mate! Looks great, it's the simple things that make a difference sometimes :D
Don't worry about the tunes mate, once you get the extractors in and the cam done, that will be all the tunes you will wanna hear :P
Mick

garnish looks good, alot better than the grey s**t

and yeah, once the cam, chip, headwork & diff gears go in you'll be less worried about music and probably look at your stereo differently (eg. heavy s**t slowing you down :P )
