Yeah, if i didn't have any experience after this conversion, i'd have to be retarded.

You have a good christmas too mate.

EDIT: Just finished refitting the lane loom into the back of the dash, dash is now ready to refit.

OK.

So i got a new dash loom, its out of an NF Fairlane. One of the cluster plugs had to be changed to fit the fairmont cluster, other than that, all looked ok.

Anyway, one thing i forgot to check yesterday, i found today. I just finished putting the dash back in, and after hooking everything back up, i found that the taillights aren't working. The front parkers and dash lights are, but the taillights are not. The brake and reverse lights ARE working.

Could this be because the Lane cluster has the "bulb out" nonsense, and this obviously isn't hooked up in the fairmont cluster? If so, how do i get around that?

Ben, HELP!! lol

Yeah lol,

The brake light switch isn't in the dash loom, so it was always connected, but the brake lights worked anyway, its only the taillights.

I just solved the problem though, it was because of the bulb out feature on the Lane, all i had to do was make a jumper and join the brown wires on the bulb out plug. Bam, it has all lights now, WOOT!

Although i'm p****d it all happened even more now though, it seems the problem was caused by my new amp!!! I just tested it, and it was jamming power on, pushing it up the remote wire, which is what burnt out whatever in the old loom is buggered (which i have yet to find) I can't beleive it, if i didn't upgrade my amp, none of this would have happened. Pretty f**k that a 2 month old amp is the cause of such a head f**k.

Andrew.

Well solved the s**t amp problem by buying a premo sound system out of an EL Ghia. I bought the double din HU, and the amp, the amp will run like normal in a premo sound system, except i'll run the front speakers and sub with it, and the rear speaker will be run of the HU. All i need to get is the cable that joins the 2 from the NF i got my dash loom from.

Also i pulled out my stuffed roof lining.

I'm glad to find no suprise rust or anything like that. I don't have a replacement yet, but even with the tacks in the whole thing was starting to fall. I will source a replacement within a month if money permits. While i got the lining out i am wiring in my rear map lights too, and making some led's for them.

And this is just a pic of my dash spear installed. MMMM, woodgrain.

I decided to wreck the drift car, as i'll end up with more money. I've sold pretty much half of it, only really have the shell and the motor left. Hopefully now thats its after xmas they'll go quick i hope.

I have pretty much everything except the valve springs now. The guy that is doing the head machining is back in town on the 8th, so i'll probably take the head off this weekend, and deliver to him to do the machining, and next week i'll have the cash for the valve springs, and maybe the retune for the chip.

Some dude is supposed to be buying my turbo this weekend, so i might have more cash a couple of other performance peices.

Also got my premo sound system today, yay!, no more s**t unreliable aftermarket f**k crap!

Stay tuned yo!

Yeah someone may want it.

Well i finally got a cable, thanks to MR ED, who even delivered it from NSW, i kid you not!!

Got it all hooked up, and the screen on dsp still dont light, so i have another setup coming from ford, they do recoed double dins for 165 exchange, bargain IMO.

And although the dsp didn't light it all still worked, and it sounds fantastic, i love the EF/L premo sound. The amp makes my speakers sound nicer, and louder than the jvc, or the previous kenwood amp. Its funny how the 100wrms for the sub also makes it pump harder than the 300rms from the jvc, go figure.

When i get the new units in, pics will come, and then my time is going to the headwork. :):):):):):)
