Hey hey,

i havent rang him yet, kind of lost track of time, haha. I started modding the cat to fit, but while cutting it on tuesday i accidently f**k it, so now i have to shell out for a cat. I cant fit it all up anyway withiut the head on, i need the head nack on there to get the pipe all in the right place, so nothing more will happen till i get the head back. If i remember ill ring old mate tomorrow to find out the deal. :)

I did buy the custom chip however off galapogus01, i got him to slightly mod his 1521a tune to more suit my car. Not sure when i'll get it, i'll soon know.

Andrew.

thats an awesome idea with the hand made wood grain. You should make them and sell them to the poor souls who cant afford real ones (like me!! )

Yes beer is my friend.

Hey nicco, i hope to get this woodgrain pretty smick, it'll take a bit of work though, i dont know alot about timber work, so its all learning, we'll see what i end up with i guess.

Got my TIPERFORMANCE chip today thanks alot to Galapogus01 off this forum, L-E-G-E-N-D.

The tune should be close enough for me to have the car run ok with the big cam, and should still see good power.

So the chiptorque is for sale. Woot.

hopefully the tune is pretty close.

i know when i ran the 1521a custom tune i had with my 977b cam, the car would stutter & hesitate on light throttle anything under 2000rpm in 5th gear.

and nicco, i'd say with the work involved in hand-making woodgrain trims it would be cheaper to buy the factory plastic ones :)

Yeah i hope so,

Galapogus said he made a couple of changes that he thought would suit my c ar better, so hopefully it'll be good enough until i get a programmer.

My mates's mate also has a dyno shop, and said he'd give me a few free runs to check all the important stuff is in order, and get a "for now" power figure.

Will do, hopefully next weekend it can all go back together, and dont worry, there'll be beers, and optional spirits.

I always have a heavy supply of booze, haha

hrmm... is an interesting point you raise!!

i still reckon the way to do it would be to make a fibreglass mould of the real ones and go from there. (i just want to paint some)

Hahaha,

I'm only judging this from when Dan (Fordfairmont) has the wade 1543b in his car, which besides suitable valve springs and the exhast system and chip, it made 157kw at the wheels, (correct me if i'm wrong dan).

Now, we have essentially the same car, at the time both were manual, mine still is. My motor has the same k's and in excellent condition, headwork is as follows

- port job, clean up all casting marks
- 3 angle valve grind (not for power, just an assurance)
- change shape of conbustion chamber
- comp raised to approx 9.9
- au head gasket
- crow valve springs
- wade 1543b cam
And the car also has these
- walbro 255 fuel pump
- XR fuel reg
- pacie 4480's
- 2.5 inch cat
- 2.5inch system straight through
- au injectors (new)

I think thats it. Anyway, with all this, and the non dynoed tune, i'm hoping for around 160-165kw, and after a dyno hoping for 165-170kw at the wheels. These are just guesses going from the power/mods that mainly Dan, but also what other members have.

Fingers crossed, but other wise it'll be fun anyway.

i made 147kw, but all dyno's vary etc.....your should easily make 150+

however the best dyno, is whipping through the gears on the road :)
