How far is the track from your place?

Yeah as soon as i have perfect tune i'd like to do a time, i really have no interest in drag, but i'd still like to know what the car does.

dunno, its about 1.5 hours, maybe a little less.

im not that keen on the drags either, but im also curious to see what times my car does in its current state.... previously the single spinner diff was letting me down, but now hopefully i can get the 60 footers down to 2 seconds flat, and get a f**k 14 sec time for once :x

Got a new balancer today, only one i could get was $100, which was the cheapest anyway. So i went to fit it, but that puller we got only lasted the 1 pull, this time it stripped the thread. Lucky you told me to keep the receipt Dan, so i went and got another for swaps.

Anyway, running well, and about to go for a afternoon cruise test run. Wish me luck lol

Hey Pimp, what was involved with changing it?

For the last few weeks mine has been shaking through the car a bit at idle in gear, sometimes badly, sometimes not at all. Its still idling at a constant rpm though. In the last few days it has also started making squeaky noises in gear at low revs and idle, when i put it in neutral it gradually goes away over a few seconds.

I'm thinking its the harmonic balancer. Is this the same as the crank pulley, or is it actually bolted on to it?

Looking forward to the results of your work, and a vid to show what it sounds like!

Crank pulley is just another name for it, yes same thing.

To pull out you need the type of puller that bolts on the front, i'll get a pick up tomorrow. You have to pull the fans and radiator out for the puller to clear.

Figured all of that. I was thinking the rad may be able to stay in, but why would you risk it haha.

Cheers.

i was fortunate enough to be taken for a drive in this car today, and will say its got ALOT of grunt for what mods its had done. I cant believe how nice it went... even with a 3.23 single spinner diff & slipping clutch i was surprised it still felt as strong as it did. I'd say the bloke who done the headwork has done a brilliant job.

If the car goes this hard with just a 3.23 diff, it leaves me curious how hard it would go with short gears....something like 3.73 LSD

Thanks Dan, i think you've talked me into the 3:73's, and the missus has given the ok!!

Once i'm in the new house, new clutch and 3:73's are on the way, and then on the dyno, WOOT!

"GOOD s**t IN THE PIPELINE" sounds ugly... No matter what I think of, now that I have thought of "GOOD s**t IN THE PIPELINE" I just can't get the picture out of my head.....

At the same time I am thankful that it is other people who work in plumbing, and I merely draw three dimensional objects in realtime with wood, saws and hammers.
