Gday guys, after getting the aircon in my EB tested and having a quote of $1000 to fix it I decided to hunt around for a replacement car instead.

I came across this EF Fairmont on Ebay, drove down to Sydney today and bought it for $1800.

I'm not sure what wheels are on it... anyone help?
I've already put a EL Ghia grille on it....
<img src="http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/3175/27092008229ub4.jpg" alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us"/>

Tomorrow i'll throw some superlows and 18's on it.
Ive got a few bits and pieces from en EL Fairmont Ghia I wrecked so thats good..... except all my interior spares are Capuccino and this has grey interior.
I have a couple of questions at the moment...

- Is there any benefit in putting the EL Ghia ECU into the EF?
- Is there any way of painting the capuccino roof lining I have spare grey to go into the EF?

I'll be going through all the valuable info on this site to see what I can do to it.

Hey jason,

It's clean and unmodded, which is a good start 8-)

You won't get enough benefit to justify the ECU swap. The EL and EF ECU's are totally different, as the EF uses a coil pack, while the EL uses a dizzy.
The EF ECU has 104 pins, while thhe EL only has 60. You would need to transfer the whole wiring loom, and convert the EF to run a dizzy.
Easiest option is just to get an EF XR6 ECU.

Well today was a productive day.... even if I did have to chuck a sicky hehe

I finished swapping the suspension and wheels over, degreased the engine bay, cleaned out the boot and steam cleaned the interior.

I dont think the previous owner had ever thoroughly cleaned it.... it was chock full of leaves and dirt and stank of tobacco. Its all clean and smelling nice now.
Next will be to sort out the mess of wiring that I assume was his audio setup. Its a really really cheap crappy cd player that had a disc stuck in it....... it was 'The Best Of Dr Hook' bwahahahaha
