Yeah i will have a sub knob/switch to turn the sub lower when the kids are in the car. I have a sick box that i have been waiting for ages to use and it looks trick in the wagon. If i cant work out a switch for it, i will prob just run some s**t little amp that wont go overboard. I had a 12" in the misses proton gti and it was great but this is double the size so i figured 2 12's would be suffice.

Hey guys, I got stuck into the dash today, below are some early pics of it- still needs a few more coats and rub backs in between tho.
The selector isnt painted- just been taped up |

dont apply to many primer coats as it tends to crack

you will find that it cracks due to the paint not set before another thick coat is applied. if you keep them thinly coated and allow a hour or 2 dry time you can add as many as you like

I got distracted today and decided to replace the leds behind the dash whilst it was all apart, so now i have also painted the black dash cluster white and tomorrow i will be printing off a design for the instrument cluster and putting it all back in at once so its 100% completed. I have a few things left to source eg- cd player surround and a clock but it is coming along very nicely and i am looking forward to looking at the end result. Whilst it was all pulled down today i ran and hid the wiring for the GPS, Phone Charger as well as the bluetooth phone speaker. I wasnt sure how to do it and keep it looking factory so i have hard wired all these to the cigarette lighter but i have hidden the wires and operational cigarette lighter behind the dash. I will have a "fake" one in the dash so nothing looks out of place tho. Anyways it has been a huge day and tomorrow i have a lot more to do so im outta here and will post pics up tomorrow of it all.

just an option, but if your going to have a dummy lighter in the dash, why not just wire it up aswell. that way if you have something like a laptop or something you want to charge on the go you can still do it... most poeple dont use them but when you need one its handy.

Ok well i got held up with a few things so its still in pieces at the moment. I have ordered some t5 LEDS from Ebay as no one in town had any blue ones- they only had red, green, and ones that change colors.
The dash is finished just waiting a clock as well as a new CD Surround as the one i bought earlier today doesnt fit- i must have grabbed an el and not an ef . I decided against the decaled instrument cluster and just went for an easy and practical option of painting the plastic white. Its simple and efective. Dash Surround Finished with some parts back in it. The Instrument cluster painted simply and effective. Hopefully the dash will be fully refitted next weekend as i am not keen to put it back in just to pull it out again to replace the LEDS. |

Yeah man i thought about doing them but i think i like the mix up of grey and white- this way the white isnt overpowering and doesnt look overboard. Im just waiting on a few parcels to arrive so i can finish it and put it back in and then start on the next project on the car.

i do like and prefere the grey added in. its like the people in EA-ED who dont remove the vents... looks good untill you adjust the vents of close off the vents and you can see just how dodgy it is. its easy to do but people just dont care. glad to see you put in the effort to make it look presentable. i like it
