Added some ACL heatshield to protect the paint on the engine and the firewall.

Previously heat from the extractors has been a major issue, cant be too safe

Finally got some motivation to spray a spare bonnet I had lying around.
Took it back to bare metal, etch primed, high filled and top coated.

Cut back with 800g wet and dry then 1200g finishing with a buff with a foam pad and Meguires medium cut shop series.

just a question, to take timing cover off was it everything but the waterpump that has to come off? Or can you get away with leaving anything else on? I gotta do mine soon its leaking like a siv :(

Everything including dropping the sump. I found installing the timing cover too dificult with the water pump on, so it was removed untill afterwards as it fowls the TC.
Mind you this was with the motor out of the car so doing it in the car would suck.

I now have no AC system except the compressor so if I pull my radiator out and take the front bar off, there is a good view to the front of the motor for future repairs :D

So my neibour is a scrappy who allways has Commodores and the odd Falcon.
He picked this beauty up a few weeks ago and the guy only knows folks into holdens.

Came over a couple of days ago and offered, for $100 I could take what I wanted except Engine, G/Box Seats and Door Trims.

So, I went to town, as anyone would have.
Scored:
Four Doors, Boot, Rear Bar, Under Bonnet Felt, Console Lid, Boot Carpet and just about anything else I could unbolt!!

Finally got me some Ghia Moulds!!

Gave them a quick spray and colour coded the strips in the centre.

Chrome looks a little tired though. Does anyone have some tips to refresh it?
