hey guys, well driven the car for about 100km and it still taps like crap, so gonna remove the rocker cover today and see what's happening.

on a side note sounds like I have chain rattle at around 2000rpm however not 100% sure.

starting to think I have a regrind cam, will lets you know....apart from this car drives completely fine, got power under it etc.

That sounds like the big 5/8" (16mm) bolt on the front of the cam sprocket is very loose.

hi guys fixed the tapping!, second exhaust rocker arm needed another shim, think it from another rocker gear has it has a C instead of a A stamp on it, however idling the car under 1000rpm the car shakes like s**t, but doing 15kms and other car is completely fine ,

thinking this rocker gear is dodgy.

Wow Mate you have come a long way really good to see.
You must be proud as hell with what you have done so far.
Sorry to hear about the trouble your having at the moment I wish I could help :(
All I could suggest is checking the leads to your plugs and I think that model has a dizzy ?
and check your rotor button and dizzy cap

well done indeed mate

yeah getting into it all, this model has a coil pack so cant change timing, just the base idle i believe which wouldn't do jack lol, checked all leads and bolts and all are fine.

Just had a fun day driving it with a fuel injector leaking badly and spilling fuel all over the engine and stripping off me paint on the fuel rail and bbm, manage to get it home and and walked to the wreckers and have replaced it now all good.

still have the rough idle so gonna replace rocker gear next weekend and see if it will fix it.

Dont believe there is had its only done it since putting a extra shim on the C stamp rocker arm to stop the tapping.

Im still going with a dud lifter.

If it is collapsed more shims might take up the lash but the valve might be slightly off the seat now which may be causing the crap idle.

Im no mechanic but that seems logical to me?

yeah could be man, i was thinking the extra shim i added has over balance the valve and could be closing the exhaust too late and there for is extra air/compression creating crap idle, if you put your hand near the exhaust its abit......stuff it will take another vid i suck at explaing things lol.

but i could be way off and yeah could be right who knows might try to find me old lifters etc.
