Well done.

Slow and steady, and then check everything three times and it should all go as planned.

Cheers

hey guys any tips with getting this BBM back in, cant seem to get it mounted to the rear support bracket on top of the starter motor, does the bbm go on front or back of it, and does the water pump pipe go in front of that bracket, has I have it behind the bracket.

thanks

hi just read your thread good work on the motor.

one problem is that radiator I used to build them for ADRAD those marks are leaks from the headder plate which unless re soldered will leak again the only reason they arnt leaking is because of the corrosion wich can fall off any time either get another or get it fixed or you may get a crash course in replacing head gasketsImage
you can see fresh coolant on the 3rd or fourth rung

Nope no problems.

As I understand it those brackets are there so you can unbolt the BBM and leave it there in place while you remove the head.

Cheers

Throw the radiator in the bin.

Buy a copper core one - ford had 'genuine' ones for $180 a few years back.

Using cheapy ally radiators are a bad idea, they corrode easily and being a $10 ebay item, the fins when shaped tend to have stress cracks on them. hence the more expensive ones are far better.

Also without correct earthing they are prone to stray current.

you've spent hours and have reco'd the top end, and cars of this era don't like weak links in their cooling systems.
