Looks like someone needs a new pair of bonnet struts :lol:

Nice work so far mate, always good working on the car yourself and gaining a stack of knowledge along the way. Engine bay is looking very tidy :)

Have you started it up yet man?

You just need a BA intake pipe and a new overflow bottle and your bay will look mint :D

yeah i do man, wind pushes it down lol, and yeah was cant wait to work on the future ba engine mod with maybe a t5 conversion. and yeah looks cleaner now.

hey all got fluids today , it runs fine however i still have this tapping noise, it idles fine, oil pressure is ok etc but yeah tapping sound still after replacing lifters etc.

did you soak the lifters in oil before installing them?

and also make sure the little round disc shims on top of the lifters are around the right way the oil will only flow if they are in correctly and they wont effect the oil pressure

apart from my lifters being left out of oil for a long time before they went into the car, the f**k mechanic who did my headgasket/cam install did exactly this to both sets of shims in my lifters when he put it back together. Basically the car sounds like s**t until i pulled the lifters down and saw the issue, now ive got a slight ticking noise but its nothing compared to when shims were the wrong way.

yeah i bleed them and have the 3 dots on shims facing down and the slot facing up.
