Hey everyone im new to the forum so hope it works.
I have recently brought a Ef xr6. Tickford motor, 5sp manual, resprayed, 17 inch xr Ba rims, Lowered with pedders shocks, Slotted rotors, Double plated clutch, 2 1/2 inch exhaust and has had some head work done.
I am not 100% sure what other modifications have been done. I live at newcastle and am looking to take it to a performance mechanic, any ideas?

Plans are to Get front clip resprayed as it has been scrapped underneath, Maybe a tickford body kit, The interior needs freshining up so some new carpet, seats door trim etc. I would like to do some more performance modifications and hopefully once im off my p's It will be getting a turbo :D Not quiet sure why it wont alow me to attach photos

If anyone has any answers to my questions or has sujestions of their own please let me know
Thanks :)

Hi, Welcome to Fordmods.

I prefer to use Photobucket for hosting photos. Check it out, and it is free.

Looking forward to seeing some pics of your ride.

Check out the NSW/ACT cruise forum. The Newy members have regular meets on Friday nights, and their next meet is a cruise down to Liverpool in Sydney to meet up with us Sydneites.

Cheers
BenJ

"performance Mechanics" in Newcastle are few and far between.... i would suggest taking to cresent motorsport or another site sponsor to get work done.

there are certain workshops in newcastle that i would not go near..... im not going to go mention their names.

Macnaugtons Engines at Wallsend is the only place in newcastle i would take my car too. The guys there have been working with ford engines for over 30 years nd thats where i got my engine work done when i had my EF.

Shane at Hunter Falcon wreckers (???) at cardiff is always good for spare parts.

Hey man,

Welcome to Fordmods.

When hosting pictures using Photobucket you need to resize the pictures to the large size for best size in the threads. Click on the photo and to the left will be some codes, copy and paste the IMG code onto the page. It may look like a code but if you submit or preview the post the picture will show.

Ef XR6 for your first car, you have done well and even better if it has the basic mods, exhaust, lowered, brakes. Even better head work is a good step and you could look at getting a cam from one of the site sponsors at the top of the page. You might want to check your not running spacers as if your on your P's and get pulled over you can loose a point for each wheel in QLD and you are only given 4 points to start with meaning you have just lost your licence. Already being a manual is lucky as there a popular mod and not easy to find for good price. At super cheap they sell $3 cans of export brand cleaner that you can use on your interior seats ect, just check for colour run first. It's cheap and works well. New carpet starts from $140 on an ebay store.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/MOULDED-CAR-CARP ... 286.c0.m14

When thinking about upgrading interior look at the fairmont and fairlane interiors.

Don't be so keen to get a turbo's(or supercharger) as there is other things you can do first that will give you enough power as you don't want to get your self in trouble

Regards,

Michael.

Thanks for the mate. Will do. As i said i want to take it to someone to check over what has been done. It was previously owned by a mechanic and this was his little weekend car. I want the car to look as good as possible. How much roughly would an upholster charge to fit the new carept planning on doing this soon. I would also like to put new seats in aswell. I really like the AU T3 TS50 seats i reckon they would look sick in the car. I have read alot of forums so the AU seats are a straight bolt in??

Hope the pictures come out alright. I really think a different set of rims would look nice. Alot of people have the 17's on their car. Think after i get my car looked over i might either buy or make a new front bar for it. Thinking FPV pursuit bar or something.

Hey man,

Nice car, leave the wheels the car looks great and has as a good ride height. I recommend changing the carpet yourself its not that hard of a job and would be a great learning curve. Could be done easily if you started on a Saturday morning by removing the interior and fitting the carpet then either fit all the interior back in that night or the next morning. The only ab-normal tools you will need is an assortment of Torx driver bits.

See here for more info

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torx

They wont be to expensive, you only need them to undo the seat bolts. And if you get stuck or can't figure anything out jump on here and ask away.

Speaking of seats, i don't think the AU ones will fit. I'm sure someone could clear this up for you. You might like these better, there's heaps of different colours styles ect and you could custom your entire interior since your getting new carpet all you would need in some vinyl and plastic paint to hit the dash with some colour.

interior-modifications-f14/leather-seat-covers-t74694.html

That front on picture looks like there an added CAI(cold air intake) pipe running from the left fog light hole.

Hope this stuff helps,

Regards,

Michael.
