It's always a good idea to take a walk around a "pick a part" style wreckers to see some partially dismantled car's, then you get an idea of what it looks like underneath the plastic trims. Especially good for checking out wiring looms....

not much new to report. gunna put interior conversion off for a bit now. i have a fair idea wat to do for it now tho. (thank u forums)
i am wanting to go 5 speed within the next couple of months but i need to know a few things first... wat r ALL the things i need? obviously the box and manual pedals but wat else? am i going to need a different diff and ECU? i was speakin to a mate the other day (who is on this forum) and he said v8 boxes are hard to get ur hands on so the best way to go is get a 6 cyl t5 and get a v8 bell housing. i have got people who can help me do it, or rather basically do it all but i just wanna know what exactly is required and how much is the goin rate for a manual conversion these days? if anyone has a good condition v8 manual conversion in vic at a good price let me know! thanks - jarrod |

Good luck offloading yours mate. Tried selling mine last year for similar $$$ with zero interest.
End of the day, I was glad it didn't sell. Bigger plans are now back on the drawing board

Any progress on the XD? Here's a couple of pic's of my old XD wagon for motivation Had 351C, 4 speed manual and 12 slotters, just like on your wish list! Would love to see the red wag's come to life Cheers, Mick

We do! Owned that wagon a very long time ago......approx 16 years ago (showing my age now ) probably long gone now. Bloke I swapped with was well known for destroying cars
Bit of a story here on how I came to get the XD....and how I lost it off-topic-f6/mick-s-old-fords-t67032.html?hilit=mick\'s%20old%20fords*

im calling BS:
1. there is no stone chips in the front 2. why would you remove the plates 3. there is a sticker on the top of the window passenger side 4. finding a DC LTD with all the parts in it like perfect carpeted kick panels and such is too big a task 5. no one purposely puts those rims on - yes i know i have them on my LTD but they wont go onto the fairlane 6. you dont go backwards in steering wheels - the 'old one' would have suited more 7. chances of someone noticing and replacing console with leather unit along with kick panels and all the small things is slim (not impossible but most people dont bother) 8. finding pillar trims and roof trims in good enough condition to warrant installing is slim 9. drilling holes and getting the chrome strip on the bonnet to line up perfect is a huge job 10. no signs of badge or badge removal - and you wouldnt delete the V8 badge 11. it has a towbar or atleast something hanging back there... 12. and of course the biggest one - the car sales stamp on each pic lol but thats just on a quick view lets just say i have spent alot of time looking at the differenced between NC and DC lol |

its only because my driveway consists of a Turbo NC, a DA LTD and a DC LTD. plenty of time to compare the 3 lol

I bought a DC for exactly the same reason.......was just too hard to find all the little "LTD" bits for the Lane. Pity it turned out to be an absolute POS!
Anyway.....very nice score on the DC........looks to be in A1 condition Cheers, Mick
