My exhaust goes on this Friday before lunch :P I so can't wait. Now all I need is to get my a** in to gear and get a growler intake. Unfortunately, haven't been able to find one on the cheap, so looks like a $500 brand new

Also need to find a full day so I can piss around taking the front bar off and radiator out so I can put the underdrives in... Hopefully the crank bolt isn't tight as a nuns c*nt like the BA was (we f**k the cam chain so the prick wouldn't keep trying to crank when we tried to undo the bolt lol). Might also do a trans oil flush and coolant flush while I'm at it, and also the engine oil + fuel/oil filters.

Going to be a fun weekend :)

neither do i... infact i find it rather theraputic lol
but sometimes the professionals pick up something that you may miss... so i like to take it to a dealer mechanic every now and then, cause they will pick on everything and squeeze every dollar out of you :p

Just read your whole thread, are you still going to go the forced induction route? If so.... on your first page it said malpassi rising rate reg. Scrap that idea and just go a std xr6t reg and get a flash tuner and get a custom dyno tune... best option for b and f series fords. Ive heard bad things about malpassi not holding consistent pressures which will make your engine fail if pumping boost into it. Also secondly someone posted saying that an aftermarket pump will make your car over fuel.. thats a bunch of crap, the fuel reg in the car is designed to regulate fuel pressure no matter what the flow of the pump is. I put a bosch 044 in my car before it was going to get tuned all with standard everything else and ran fine. Maybe he had an aftermarket fuel reg with the pressures jacked up or had bigger injectors fitted without a tune... The standard reg will only allow standard pressures for standard tune. You could wire up 4 044's and would make stuff all difference to the amount of fuel being injected. The only difference youll find is the fuel would be circulating through the return lines to the tank more and heating up the fuel more. But that doesnt really matter.

On another note If your trying to decide between turbo and supercharged. Deffs turbo you will make more torque for your dollar! except the bug bites and you will spend more than what you anticipated anyway... haha

Mind you, if someone came up to me and said "I'll give you a complete turbo kit or a complete surpercharger kit each rated to give 300rwkw" I'd take the turbo simply cause I don't have to pay for it :P

Cheers about the info on the regs/pumps... i have been reading up on the rising regs, and they seem like one of those things that REALLY work when you get it right... but if you dont get it right, its just a massive PAIN!

well i like the idea of both... cause either of them will give me more power then N/A lol

but like krazed said, superchargers are easier but with less return... if i look into it enough and have enough cash to setup it up well, i will go turbo.
though at the moment, its looking like i wont have either... unless i come across cheap stock xr6t gear, cause im a tight a** lol. though the way im going (small bit by small bit) i will eventually have all the goodies apart from a 6boost manifold and the turbo :)

No worries, yeah well that snort kit you mentioned are definatly a well priced kit. Buying parts seperate really is costly and snort do a great job of supplying kits for an affordable price. And I know I'm a tight a** too as with most people who modify cars on here! Best way is to set a goal and stick with it and buy all the parts slowly until you can afford to install it all and get it tuned. That way your not blowing a lot of money at once. And you may spend extra to begin with with quality gear but you will only spend it once!

In regards to the rising rate regs, your not wrong in saying people do have success with them, but for ease of tunability you wouldn't skimp out after you have spent hard earned $$$ on your set up and not getting the best out of it or worse, wrecking your engine.

Cheers,
Corbin

Yeah from what i have read around the world wide web, the snort kit is very reasonably priced. most other places are the same price without a manifold.
Though the only thing that gets me is EVERYONE putting in their two cents about manifold qulity and performance... i see you have a 6boost manifold, which to me seems like the best (or at least the least complained about lol) manifold. Whereas everyone likes to have a dig at the poor fella from snort performance... oh well... i guess each to their own and for the price, i couldnt care less if the snort manifold is 0.001sec slower then the 6boost one lol

yeah, well thats the plan... either save up and buy the snort package, or make my own own kit piece by piece slowly.
i just want reliability, thats definately higher up the list then performance... cause i would rather lose a race, then spend money and time foolishly at the mechanic. do it right the first time...

Snort kit are quite reasonable for their price, considering it's all new parts and it will handle well over 300rwkw easily.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/COLD-Air-Int ... 3a7d1479fe (rather than getting a growler, $230 cheaper, but doesn't look anywhere near as nice. Not sure on how it performs compared to growler though...)
