haha well i wouldnt mind it. but i cant afford install for AGES, even if i did it myself (with extensive help/aid).

i want to get things out of the shed/bedroom and into the car, eg audio, suspension, brakes, wheels. so thats the check list for myself at the moment. i want to limit myself to that, although if that diff goes for anything under $200 i would be stupid not to... even if it does end up sitting around for 12months before it makes it into the car.

Dear kprass101,

Yes a M80 diff in a VY is the same design as used in a FG with M80 apart from one simple mod, The M80 gears we have listed are specific for VX-VZ models which run a spigot on the front.
When used in a non-spigot model such as FG we cut the spigot off.
We remove the spigot at no charge but all other dimensions are the same.
The M80 Kaaz lsd and M80 truetrac listed in my ebay store all fit the FG as well as the M80 diff bearing kit and the a*** you have found.
You need to make sure your FG has a M80, The Fg can run a M78 a M80 or M86 diff , there is a sticker on the rhs of the diff all the numbers are on the sticker, if in doubt record those numbers with the cares vin number suppply them to me and i can work it out.

Yeah, cleared a lot of info up. Not sure what a spigot is (i'm retarded remember lol), but that's the only difference between the 2. Apparently FG can run the M78 as found in the B Series. I'm going to assume this is for the FG's that have the 4sp (LPG Cars), but will find out shortly when gets back to me again. I sent him the details for whats on my diff tag, so fingers crossed it is actually an M80 rofl

hmm whats the diff that the b series turbs run? m86?

haha spigot is like a locating ring, umm... like a stepped shoulder turned into the part. considering they are hard as f**k it would be fun getting it off... though if he does it for free, then good on him lol.

the tag should have m80 or at least 80 in it, i looked at mine but cant remember now. i have an m80.

That's whats on my diff tag, just had a quick peak. All turbo and V8's minus the G220 ran an M86 diff.
Not sure about the G6ET, as it's still an open center diff... I think it's also an M86 but just not LSD... (which is retarded...)

Wonder how hard it would be to get that spigot off lol also depends on how many km's the gears have done if from a VT-VZ SS. I think I'd prefer a trutrac LSD, as they're quiet and tighten up under torque very quickly.

umm on the drive shafts there is a label that should have m80 written on...

hmm fair enough, would be a few out there... what would it take to convert though? cause the change the center you have to take it all out anyway...

if you end up getting one, ill just take it off at work for you... piece of piss with a lathe and carbide tooling, failing that grinders do a good job lol
well the only reason you would ever go series III commy stuff is price... cheap as s**t compared to doing it aftermarket. if i had the money i would put a trutrac in too...

just bit the bullet and bought some more things off ebay...

so... purchasing of audio gear is nearly complete. just need large gauge wire for power/earth, few fittings (for earth etc). ummm... and my cousin said he would fab it up as soon as he has a day off work and some free time. so hopefully soon (2-3weeks i imagine).

umm yeah, im just going to do the basic hardwire setup for now... then slowly add terminals and all the rest of it, get it to a stage im happy with. then take it all out and get it lined with carpet.

PS can someone point me in the direction of somewhere you can get stuffing for the sub boxes? like the same stuff you would stuff a teddy with. im guessing a fabric/craft place - eg spotlight or something similar?

Yep, I6 M80 RHS on a small green tag on the RHS driveshaft. Will be impossible to slide under the car once it's lowered, I can barely fit as is lol

Good idea with the pillow, might be the best way unless I can get a big bag of stuffing.

I knew it was down there somewhere... You have an M80 :)
Yeah I can't see s**t under mine, they are low to work on but still look like a 4x4.
