I've thought about a lot of things, my mind changes quite often in regard to what happens next with cars... I looked into the minitruck idea some more, and come to a realisation that it isn't going to work the way I want it to. My skills and budget don't really allow for the sort of execution that would ultimately make me happy with the decision to get one in the first place.
So instead I am swinging back towards my original ideas of...
1 - get a silvia/R33, and just have fun with it. Eg track days, drifts, etc, etc.
2 - involves a bit more money and time, make the XT a project vehicle. I am currently having issues with its 5spd auto, which is why I wanted to move on to something else. But after looking into it, might be a good excuse to upgrade the gearbox to a ZF and start on the long term project... '09-XTT'.

I have a 302 Cleveland engine in the shed that I was planning on building up to a eventually put into a powercruise standard car (extremely long term - 20 year project). though with recent exposure to some very nicely modified xr6t's, and also my desire for a turbo'ed vehicle, the idea of building a barra motor in the shed is growing on me more and more.

I have been looking into the overall cost of 'upgrading' the XT, and admittedly it isn't cheap (compared to just getting a factory turbo falcon). But if I can perform a lot of the work myself and things fall my way a few times, I think I can make it work in the long run. I think... just a few large financial hurdles (Eg gearbox) to get over before some progress can be made.

anywho im just rambling on now... my head is a mess with car ideas for the time being... until I get it under control I don't know what I am going to do.

Same sort of dilemma with me man. Not sure if I want to build the xt up into an na beast, turbo or go to a ricer so I can do drifting and the such.

I'll take any cheap 2nd hand performance parts on offer :)

After all Aussie day, I'm swaying back towards a long term project with the XT. It needs work on the gearbox anyway, them SS LSD for the M80, then build an engine in the shed... OR buy a stat write off xr6t and go from there ;)
Speaking of which, have a friend shopping for one tomorrow morning... So might have one by tomorrow arvo :)

so looks like i will be keeping the Falcon for a while yet... decided i'll just man up and fix it.

So in the spirit of fixing it, i was down at the local Ford service centre today to get some diagnostics done (i've had a rough start up issue as well as a recent MIL light issue). Turns out it was a combination of a few things, mainly being carbon build up on the back of cylinder 5 intake valve and a dud cylinder 5 injector. So they helped me out and cleaned up the valve for me, and then i asked a quote for parts price of the injector because i told them i would just switch it out myself... I NEARLY FELL OFF THE SEAT WHEN HE SAID "TRADE PRICE FOR A SINGLE INJECTOR IS $250 (RRP $295)!" Espcially just after the foremen said it would be around the $80 mark.

oh well... time to just suck it up a little more now. Unless someone on here has a suggestion for aftermarket injectors for me?!

For a little extra, you get a new rail, reg and 6 injectors. A darn site better than $250 for 1 injector.

I'll buy those turbo injectors off you at some point lol
If I keep this XT, she'll be getting tuned at which point I may as well put the turbo ones in.

well then, that's interesting. I always thought they ran just a few pound more. Like the BA/BF were 28lbs and turbo were 32?
