been quiet on this lately as i broke my mill and am waiting for parts (and i generally just like to procrastinate) but i got my intake all made up, just need to plumb in the IAT sensor and extend the wiring for IAT/MAF

piping kit is an ebay AUCXRACING one ($200 odd dolars delivered) pipe is very thin and not really dimensionally correct (bit smaller than 3") but its good for the $$$$

pod is a SAAS cheapie from autobarn, and a few plastic pod filter mounting doodads, and some 150mm PVP pipe fittings from bunnings (screw on cap, short bit it screws on to and a cap along with some bits of 150mm pipe to hold mesh in place and the cap onto the other bit

skip some lathing, hole sawing drilling and glueing together and i have a boxed in podfilter

neatly hidden in under the gaurd (just need bracket)

might start working on adding electric windows and central locking while i wait for my parts

Yep, that's it. It's sort of ended up that way due to having to wait a while to either get bits, tools or replacement/reco parts for one project, so you work on another to keep busy while waiting to get what you require for the other. lol. There is some method to madness.

Cheers

yeh, i really wish id gone with a type 9 for mine, doing it with the MT-75 will end up costing just as much with a lot more stuffing around, and itl only hold 50 odd HP more than the type 9 anyway.

if i was building a track car (or id planned to rego this thing in a dodgy way from the start) i would have gone bike carbs as well, since you can pick up a good 40-50 HP over the stock injection setup (its pretty piss poor)

I had the same manifold as you but decided I did not have the time to work out the wiring and could not afford TB's or twin webbers so went for the bike carbs. they dont look too bad just have to work out a filter for them.

a pic of my project almost finished. few things left to clean up but u can get the idea.

I already had the type 9 fitted a few years back so I bought a kit to install the engine and off i went.

Are you fitting a Radiator expansion tank? every where i read says you need one but dont see one on your car.

Would having a larger radiator negate the need of the expansion tank?

Do you know where it should be installed. Seems from bottom radiator hose to bottom of expansion tank but not sure where the top connection on the expansion tank should go to.

looking at the OEM setup on late model cars the upper connections (thin ones) are taken from the high points in the system (above thermostat etc) and are supposed to ferry bubbles away from the system and into the tank

That's a good point. On a EA-EL, one of the high points is the top of the radiator tank, the other is the top of the thermostat housing.

This project is very interesting!

Cheers
