Hey guys, this is my new project. Its An XE GL Falcon, 195,000 genuine logbooked kms, 6cyl auto on gas (gas system for sale if anyones interested, 9 month old sprintgas setup) which is soon getting ripped out to make way for a 383 stroker, toploader and 9inch. Its a bit rough at the moment but today i started modifying. First change is the interior colour to grey as i purchased EL Fairmont interior off REGEM on here. heres a few pics. watch this space

Looks like a cool project, and a pretty good base to start with.

Why you getting rid of the gas tho? You can make good power on it these days.

Cheers

finding a gas system to keep up with the 383 is going to be ridiculous

A pair of gas research 510's would probably do it, backed up with probably 2 b2 converters & twin lines from the tank or twin tanks. Yeah there is abit of money in the hardware, but high HP petrol hardware costs a lot too!

Cheers

What's a petrol carby, fuel pump & lines going to cost that will correctly fuel the beast to it's full power potential?

Cheers

Might need a bonnet scoop to fit it tho. It should be able to fuel your beast.

Cheers

It is a bit of a funny set-up. Twin mixers taper down to a single carb manifold. But it is reasonably priced. Could easily get you on your way.

I think they are mostly aimed at large SUV's on the American and Canadian market so there would be no real bonnet clearance issues.

Fair point about the bonnet clearance issue.

You could make up an adapter to lay the impco 425's over the top of the engine ala gas research twin tb setup style tho.

Cheers

Hi guys, I just bought one of these today unregistered for $350, it is the 3.3l engine with 3 speed manual column shift, it runs rather well and the gearbox is faultless, Any way it is the same colour as the one you have there, i must say other than the bumper being removed from the rear of the vehicle it looks like it is already in rather decent shape, mine is a bit messier haha but i had one years ago and was not going to pass up on the chance to have one again, i of course plan on "doing it up" haha im only 23 but i really appreciate these older classics for what they really are and am thinking i might make a "hottie" out of it but i want to do things the same as they were done back then.. ie none of that fantastic shiny plastic crap you see these days, what i would like to know is should i rebuild the 3.3 and bring it back to factory spec and work it right up or am i really better of puttiing an clevo in it... :) haha also how would the 3 speed column shift react to a 302 or 351 compared to the 3.3l 200.

also i noticed it has been some time since any posts were made, even though i am interested doing this one up in its original era i would really like to see some pics of your interior if you have completed it and also any other work you may have had done in that time as i am really interested in looking down every avenue when it comes to modding my xe, looking forward to seeing yours completed.
