I had a similar issue where the car would stall as I hit the clutch (coming to the lights for example) and wouldn't start unless I tapped the acellular or at the right second as I hit the key.
I did replace a fuel pump around that time.. It was the biggest PITA problem I've ever had. And I can't remember how exactly I did fix it..

mines an auto and after a drive down the street and around the corner i will turn it off then try to start it but all it does is crank so i put my foot to the floor and it started right away. do you know why that could be?

If you replaced the coil, it could be fuel pressure related once the car warms up? I don't remember how I fixed it..
I do remember it got me stuck at the main intersection once and every d***head behind me pulled up, beeped an carried on at me despite the hazards an every other car before goin around... They just took turns... A tip I've always had though is that sometimes the most annoying issues are the minor causes.. Vacuum leak, fuel pump, sensor unplugged..

No unplugged sensors, vaccum leak was the first thing I checked and the fuel pump primes and sounds fine. I havent done the test where you unplug the line and see how much fuel comes out. I have a manual so I can do the test tomorrow. Could a faulty fpr cause the problem?

Yeah possibly. If you have a spare FPR try it out. But don't buy one before replacing the pump...

They wear out over time, slowly loose pressure etc..
You can do a fuel pressure test but you will need a gauge and fitting.. Simply replace and your covered in that regard for the next 2-5 years.
