Decided I'd try and upload straight from the tablet and it's worked yay would have gathered black silicone pipe but supercheap, repco and autobarn didn't have any but it looks better than the old intake hose i think.

The head will hopefully be coming off in the next few weeks so i can replace the gasket with a mls gasket and new headbolts.

Edit:(dammit iphones!! not showing all posts properly..)
Intake looks quite effective, and pretty nice too.. I had a yellow silicone piece and sprayed it thick with blue and it lasted well for quite a while... Parcel shelf is 6" I'm pretty sure, but there are plenty of spacers and even small boxes available. Also if you haven't discovered the front holes are 4".. I have a heap of photos on how I customized and fitted 6" speakers.. I've seen a couple of "super cheap sponsored" fusion setups.. They are good for quick cheap bass but popped pretty often. From memory my 8"s are Blaupunkt. Germans can make some good stuff. I didn't get get too technical before, but yes the lead core is the same and it only in the insulation purely for withstanding the higher voltage and labour demands a drag or race car would be pumping out, possible higher temps maybe too. Although I have seen on a mates XF he built a speedway spec motor for. He had a full on MSD setup and at first he had some 8.8mm leads, and the spark difference between them and the 10mm ones he got later was pretty impressive.. There was a bit of tuning involved and it constantly rooted lifters from the cam. Lol.. Not disagreeing with you entirely. Yes, for a mildly worked car 10 mm is pointless... Just for wank factor.. Back on to stereo though. Shop around. Different stores stock different things, I once got a pioneer amp and sub for half price at the local 4wd ARB store. Overpriced and obscure it had a heap of old stock and display items on a big sale. You never know what you can find. The auto barn in port pirie had a similar big sale, all old stock for 40-50% off..

No it isn't blown but it is weeping.
The front speakers in the lane are blown and the rear on their way out that's why I'm looking for some new ones at the moment I'm leaning towards the Sony's because their on special at supercheap.

sony speakers are crap.
Don't waste your time with 4s. Take it from someone who tries to have a decent stereo. I blew 3 sets of 4" splits. Different brands. Till I cut the hole out to a 6.5" so I can run decent splits. I use Morel speakers. They're Finnish. They make speakers to a quality. Not so they look pretty

The Door cover I personally call a door trim, however door card, door skin, and door cover are all on the money.. The holes in the door itself will have to be customized to fit 6" speakers. I have a heap of photos from when I cut out an fitted mine. I wouldn't worry too badly about brand. Sony will be fine and on special is even better . If your only running them out of the head unit and not overdriving them with an amp they should produce decent enough sound.. a decent set of 6" 2way speakers work just fine.

Yeah on the bass side of things, your gonna need at least a decent amp and sub setup.
What do you have now that your gonna be using? Head unit? Amp? Sub?

You don't need to remove the parcel shelf to extract speakers. Just undo the 3 nuts inside the boot and they push out through the top.
Bro tip: some speaker baskets don't clear the factory holes, so you may have to space them to fit them. |
