Where does the hose go? Update on issue with car not starting when hot or after a drive it was the exhaust leak. My stepdad told me to check the bolts that hold the mainfold together and one was loose he tightened it and now no problem. Im still getting extractors and cat fitted on the 17th and hopefully getting the gearbox serviced before the friday after the 17th?

Thats good news, like I say it is usually something that simple!
I broke my brain trying to work out what was causing idle issues with mine once, and it was only a vacuum leak.

Yeah after you said it could be something simple I thought id start checking things then as soon as I gave up my stepdad said the exhaust. Im still going to change the fuel pump but do you know what would be better a manual conversion in a few years or depending on cost a shift kit? Also what is a shift kit?

Always had manuals and a couple of standard autos. But I've driven a worked XD ute that had a full manualized auto. That was very tight shifts!!
AFAIK, it "tightens" up the shifting. Similar to the econ/power switch difference, but from a little to much more depending on how far you go. There's a mod you can do yourself in the tech section about it I'm pretty sure.

So it makes the shifts quicker? If so does it mean it needs to be serviced more often?

Yeah, quicker and tighter shifts, a bit more kick as it hits into gear.
Servicing shouldn't need to be much more often. Maybe if its copping a bit all the time.

I dont thrash it I just give it a blip every now and again. What would be easier buying one or making one? Also is it just wiring stuff?

I'm not too sure, I haven't gone too much further into automatics other than bits I've read and removing them to covert to manual .
Have a look in the tech section, and have a search. Should be able to find somthing.

Should be the same...
Do you have the 4 speed auto or 3 speed? the 4 speeds are all the same from EB-AU I'm pretty sure, except the EFs had a sealed unit (no dipstick)

4 speed Auto from EAII to AU are basicaly the same and interchangable. There were certain internal differences but nothing to stop them being interchangable. Ensure that you use a covertor to match the series of the Auto, EB/ED, EF/EL & AU. Autos up to EF series I had a dipstick and that was deleted from EF series II onwards.
